The shower needs updating, there was a big cig burn on the tub, and it wasn't anything fancy. i just went out for the MC Chris concert and needed a place to sleep while i sober up. for the price, it served its purpose. the only major complain i have is that I'm 5'11'', not freakishly tall, average height i guess, but the shower spout was wayyyy too low, it's maybe up like 5 feet? i had to literally bend over just to rinse my hair. the lady that checked us in wasn't too friendly. im gay and went with a guy friend (not my bf, we just shared a bed) but i dont think this place is gay friendly from the looks we got

The hotel is on the outskirts of town, close to the interstate. It's a budge friendly sort of place and as a result the pillows were flat, the AC smelled funky, and there is that weird "quilted" bedspread on top of the bed. But it's affordable, there is cable TV, and it is just a 8 minute drive into old port and more desirable places in Portland.

The Travelodge was the least expensive of the lodging alternatives in Portland listed by web. For our purposes, it was more than adequate. We needed a place to stay overnight before taking the Casco Bay Lines ferry for a day visit to Peaks Island. The motel's location is easily accessible from I-95, and we checked in at 3 P.M. Using the map available in the motel's lobby, we were easily able to negotiate a trip to the Oldport area for dinner. The next morning, we took advantage of the motel's Continental breakfast buffet before driving to the ferry, also in the Oldport area. This is not a fancy establishment, but it was clean and secure and fit our needs very well.
