Description: Set on the slopes of the Esperan���a Mountain, very near Belmonte, where Pedro Alvares Cabral was born, the Pousada de Belmonte - Convento de Belmonte results from the reconstruction of the ruined Convent of Nossa Senhora da Esperan���a, where there is also a small 13th century Chapel. The Pousada de Belmonte preserves all the historical architecture of the convent, including an amphitheater in the woodlands. Guests can use the Pousada as a base for exploring the many historical monuments is the region, including the castle, the burial vault of the Cabral family, the Judiaria or Jewish Quarter, and the mysterious Centum Cellas, as well as the natural beauty and folk traditions of Serra da Estrela.<br><br>The Pousada has preserved the Monastery's heritage intact, included amphitheater architecture layout in the pine wood on the slopes of Esperan���a���s Mountain, and stunning landscape with views over the Cova da Beira region and Estrela's Mountain. Inside, the chapel and sacristy have been converted into a lounge and bar and the careful restoration work is typical of the high standard applied since conservation work began in 1997. The restaurant has the maximum capacity of 80 people, having also a wonderful view. It's a fantastic place for weddings, baptisms and anniversaries. The capacity for weddings is 150 people. Amentities include swimming pool, meeting room, and family games.<br><br>Each room comes equipped with air-conditioning, Cable TV, minibar, hairdryer, safe, and telephone.
