Major disappointment

While the location of this hotel is fantastic, that's about where the thrill ends. The lobby is nice, but dated -- as are the rooms. Our room was dark and digngy, and paper thin walls. The family in the room next to us was loud, and kids were jumping on floor and on the beds. When I called the front desk, they did nothing. There was large group of teens staying at the same time: they would occupy the halls from 10pm til 2am, and again front desk did nothing. The last and final straw: upon checkout, they DID NOT ask how our stay was and they DID NOT say thank you. Never again.

Spent 5 days here and overall had a pleasant time. Close to all the local touristy things (or at least just a short drive) and several local restaurants within walking distance. although I had room service a couple of nights and the French Onion Soup was great! The only bad thing I have to say was they are in the process of rennovating (scheduled to be done January 2011) and front lobby was a mess, but my room had already been completed and was lovely. Very clean, updated, and comfortable. Would most certainly stay here again. (And a Starbucks right across the street!)

The President Lincoln Hotel in Springfield, IL made me feel like a First Lady! When I wanted a room upgrade from a queen to a king, I got it. When I told them I needed a refrigerator for my insulin, I got it. Any request was met promptly and with smiles by the wonderful staff. The room was clean, quiet, and away from the elevators and ice machine, so I was not disturbed during the night. Room service rocked, and the food was EXCELLENT (especially the prime rib)! Almost everything I traveled to the city to see was within walking distance. I recommend this hotel to all, and I WILL BE BACK! Thanks, Mr. President!

We found this remodeled room beautifully done. The only problem was that the beautiful valance on the drapes blocked the a/c vent; so we were warm until I pinned it back with a hair clippy. Also, we were placed just outside the ice machine and wondered if this was because we were a travel agency discount customer. The people were nice, the lobby was attractive; and rooms clean. No bedbugs found!!!

We are currently in this hotel as of right now from Sept. and I must say that the staff is great. Our room is nice and clean and each time we left the room we came back to well cleaned room. We did have a little problem on the third night our door locked us out the battery that is used for the key cards had malfunctioned but they handled the situation very well. We were given a different room with on the same floor of the same quality and once they were able to open our door we were allowed to get our things and move them into the other room. I really am not a bi fan of hotels but I will be coming back to this hotel to stay anytime I'm back in Springfield.
