Beautiful hotel, heavenly bed and :( located right next to City Hall Park which hosts the loudest imaginable dance party on Friday evenings. Or at least the Friday evening I was here. Ask about this before you book! I would stay here again, but NOT on a Friday / weekend.

WE stayed 2 nights. The hotel has a great historic ambiance with contemporary services. The parking was expensive but we were able to bargain with the parking garage attached to the hotel for a cheaper rate. There is a walkway to the hotel. The parking people said the hotel would not allow in and out use of the car and the hotel said the parking garage wouldn't allow it. The garage did allow it. The restauran is McCormick and Schmicks which has passable food and terrible service. We found a coupld of good restaurants within walking distance. Good fitness center.

The Providence Biltmore smelled bad, had poor air conditioning in the room, no air conditioning in the hallways, and my room was a small triangular shaped room next to the elevator lobby. Poor experience.

Upon check-in, we found our room to be smaller than expected, lacking in storage space, and darker than it needed to be due to burned out light bulbs. When we brought these issues up with the front desk, they immediately started to work on finding us another room. As they were booked solid for the night, they gave us a spacious suite for the second night of our stay. The entire staff tried to be most cordial and accomodating. Although I would have prefered something more modern, the decor maintained the historic character of the hotel. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the location could not be beat. We were surprised by the steep valet parking fee; had we known that a parking garage was located behind the hotel for less than half per night, we would have opted to park the car ourselves.
