The hotel is lovely. Though the room was rather small (we had the queen business) it was clean and always smelled fresh. It is conveniently located to a number of restaurants (Korma Sutra was the best Indian food I have EVER eaten), a grocery store, and World Market is right across the street. My only complaints would be that the room was rather warm and I had problems getting the temperature down. Also, the maid did not leave an extra roll of toilet paper, so on the last night we ran out of that and tissues. Overall, really nice. I plan to stay here again when I return to KC in the summer.

My wife and I stayed here for a little weekend getaway on a Saturday and Sunday night. The staff were very helpful and service was excellent. The hotel has a nice stylish modern feel. The included breakfast was very tasty, made-to-order omelets and waffles. The shuttle service was great, too, the driver even stayed past his shift to pick us up after a concert at the Uptown theater. The euro-balcony room was small, as advertised, with a tiny bathroom. The biggest problem is the noise, the walls must be paper-thin, and you can hear everything from inside and outside the building. The hotel is located near a lot of bars, and there may have been a wedding reception or something in the basement on that Saturday night. All I heard was drunk yelling, car stereos and traffic till 3am. Not just muffled noise, it's like a window was wide open or something. You could easily hear conversations going on in the hallway. We almost canceled our Sunday night to find a different hotel, but figured Sunday would be more quiet, and thankfully it was. Beds weren't that comfortable. So it's a great place to stay if you aren't really planning on sleeping or having privacy. Seriously, if you plan on being out late and enjoying the nightlife in the area, it's probably a great place to stay. It's not like a relaxing quiet getaway, though, like you would expect a "spa" hotel to be. Also, be ready for the $18/night KC room tax, not the Q's fault. Again, staff were great and the breakfast and shuttle were nice extras.

Stay here
07/03/2010Very friendly staff. local shuttle service was incredibly helpful - even provided a cab ride to allow me to get to an early morning meeting before the shuttle driver arrived.

We were able to get a deal through the travel agency for $* for one night and it was everything promised. We loved the decor and the bed was great. The staff was very friendly and there's plenty of places to eat within walking distance around the hotel. We highly recommend this place!
