We stayed at the Quality Inn for a conference at KU. The building needs updating but the rooms were clean and the front desk ladies were friendly and helpful. It is a great value for the price. I would stay again.

We asked for a non-smoking room and got one - next to a smoking room. Ours reeked like smoke, it was disgusting. The bed felt way worn out and the shower had intermittent blasts of freezing and scalding water. Not cool and warm, but truly freezing and scalding. The carpet was stained and damp and the decor is way outdated. The breakfast was entirely carbs, the only protein was hard boiled eggs. Who actually eats those? They did have biscuits & gravy but the biscuits were hard as a rock and the gravy was bland and pasty. We both got sick later on, possibly from the biscuits & gravy. The vending machine was practically empty. The pool was nice but there is no hot tub and there were no additional towels at the pool. The staff was nice and said they would have the room deodorized, but I really think it was a lost cause to get rid of the smoke smell. If you stay here, make sure you get a non smoking room away from the smoking rooms. But your best bet is to move along and find another hotel.

We asked for a non-smoking room. The room we got had a no smoking sign on it. However, the room reeked of cigarette smoke. There was also a burn hole in one of the chairs-probably caused by a cigarette. The beds had down pillows on them-we called the desk to see if we could get fiber fill pillows (because of allergies). We were told all they had was down.
