Whether you are in town for business or pleasure, the University Inn is the best place to stay in the Clemson Area. Your overnight accommodations will include deluxe continental breakfast, complimentary access to Golds Gym, newspaper delivered daily, business center with high speed internet access, fax and Xerox machine, indoor heated pool, voicemail, and wireless internet connections in your room. Our luxurious ballroom is 6,200 sq. ft and can be divided into eight individual meeting rooms. We can accommodate as few as 10 or as many as 500 people for a banquet, or up to 1,000 for a reception. The semi-tropical atrium is located in the center of the hotel and is ideal setting for receptions or special gatherings. We were disappointed with every aspect of the hotel, from the cheap, dark entrance to the musty-smelling lobby, the old TVs in the rooms, and the dank, smelly carpets. The hotel was over-run with college students as well. Even though they were essentially well behaved, kids are kids, and I didn't anticipate getting much sleep. After getting a whiff of our room and hearing the thuds of young people running throughout the hotel, we returned to the front desk and asked for a cancellation. The desk clerk was friendly and professional and canceled our reservation. We went down the street and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for *bucks more, but a far more comfortable, quiet, non-smelly room.
