We have stayed at this hotel before (last year) & gave it a very favorable review. BUT this time we need to downgrade that review. Biggest problem was the bed or lack of. The bed was like sleeping on a rock. The floor was softer. Took the bed apart and found that it only had a box spring with plywood top with a TWO inch "mattress pad" over the plywood top. Now I like a very firm bed, but this bed wasmade for the Flintstone's. The nice continental breakfast area with the optional full breakfast on the open patio/dinning room is alas no more. The continental+ breakfast is now served in the lobby. We switched for the second night for a room (it was a handicap room - the only rooms w/a real mattress set - we are not handicap'd), but we did give up the king size "bed" for a queen. Many people have left comments that have been negative re staff, but we found no problems or issues with any of the staff. Our low rating is due to the bed issue, if you can't sleep what good is the hotel.

At first I didn't like that the hotel is kind of far from downtown Palm Springs. But their service, the pool (very clean), and the area restaurants made me think otherwise. The price is wonderful. The only problem I found is that the bed was very hard. I had to put pillows under my body to sleep. In conclusion, I will go back and stay there again and I recommend it to everybody. Just bring pillows!!!

Staff members repeatedly ignored questions about wireless service that was malfunctioning; literally explained to guests it was our responsibility to speak to support; refused to adjust bills or provide workable solutions claiming it was their ISP's fault; provided no follow-up to legitimate complaints and lied about their efforts to do so; shut off the in-room refrigerator during our stay; poured Drano into a sink to clear it, spilled it all over the counter, and didn't return to the room to clean it until 6 hours later when we returned; and treated concerns voiced not only by me but by other guests in my presence as hostile and personal. Never--at hotels that charge anywhere from $--have I been treated more dismissively and abusively by staff members. I can only assume that management has so alienated its employees that they've decided to sabotage the place.

You will find the Ramada Inn right on the main road coming into Palm Springs. The location is only about 4-5 minutes from the Convention Center & the main shopping/dinning areas in Palm Springs. Upon arrival we met a very pleasant member of the staff running the front desk ( all the staff that we met or passed by, made you feel right at home). We were informed that our room was on the second floor & that they had no elevators but would have a staff member assist us if we needed. Our room had a great view from the front door balcony overlooking the local mountains & 2 pools & 1 of the 3 hot tubs, all in a lovely central garden like courtyard (views will vary w/location of room). The room came w/free wifi & a good size refrigerator. The room & bathroom were very clean. We took advantage of the free breakfast (an expanded continental breakfast) in a separate eating area, with one wall that opens to an outdoor patio/garden courtyard (eat on the patio for the Palm Springs atmosphere). For $* more you can get a complete breakfast (3or4 choices). Best value in Palm Springs. Would we use them again? YES Jim & Lynne ps You must go & eat at Sherman's Deli, 401 E. Tahquitz Canon Way, Palm Springs. GREAT selections/food/desserts & portions. To top it all off great prices for what you get. Oh I forgot say go hungry or you will need that in room refrigerator.
