I would recommend the hotel to my friends, the front desk was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were extremely clean and the location was easily accessible to the beach. The only problem that we had was the fire alarm went off at 6 a.m and later on at 11 p.m the same day, It was very annoying, the front desk said they were having a problem with it but didn't bother to let the new guest know that the alarm would be going off every 24 hours but It was sooner than that. In the future Information like that needs to be related to anyone with a reservation to stay at this hotel If the problem isn't corrected.

Overall, the other reviews are true: the rooms are newer and nice, HOWEVER there are some other negative issues not mentioned. The front desk clerk is only taking up space behind the counter. The cleaning staff is apparently very slow and rooms were not ready by check in time. People began piling up in the lobby. The clerk could care less whether you got checked in or not. She kept telling us to call or come back in another half hour. She had no sense of service. She even wandered out of the hotel, at the end of her shift, passing us sitting in the lobby without updating us on the status of our room. There is no real "continental breakfast." It is a very very limited selection of bulk frosted flakes or raisin bran or toaster breads. No fruit or morning rolls that one might expect at a "continental" breakfast. Additionally, the coffee machine is broken and when the front desk clerk gets a chance, she refreshes the empty thermos in the breakfast area. If you answer the red roof inn survey negatively, in your email after you get home, the manager emails you an apology with a 15% discount offer on your next stay. Who would want to repeat that experience for less???

We really got a good deal for our money. The room was spotless and made us feel very welcome there. We stayed two nights and the second night when we came back to the hotel our room looked like it did when we first got there. They lock the doors after 10 so you need your key card to get in the front doors which made me feel very safe. Location was good, It was not too far from the beach but has a lot of food places and shopping places surrounding it. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I recommend this hotel to everyone planning on staying in Panama City!
