We booked this hotel to save money and didn't expect much; however, upon our arrival we were very pleased with the hotel. Each section of the hotel was very clean and smelled great (no smoke, etc.). Location was prime; It is with walking distance to the Riverwalk, so we didn't even use the rental car. The free breakfast and WI-FI made our trip even better. If you are looking for a great, inexpensive place to stay, choose this hotel! Note: we travel approximately 8 times a year and are very familiar with most hotel chains.

The staff was OK but not overly helpful. Asked about public transportaiton and they didn't give any info, kind of got the attitude we got better things to do don't bother us. Not sure if they have stock in taxi transportation. Room was clean but the carpet could use an upgrade. The shampoo supplied was in a packet that you had to rip open, impossible to do when hands are wet.

I needed a hotel close to the convention center and preferred not to spend a fortune, so I chose the Red Roof Inn and I'm so glad that I did. I could not be happier with my stay. It was clean, the room was nice, the tv worked great, the shower was hot, the staff was great, and you can't beat the parking rate or situation. Walking to the convention center was easy, but you do have to walk under a bridge which made me uncomfortable in the dark, so I did take cheap five dollar taxi when it was dark. But the location was great. And I felt extremely safe at the hotel. No, it is not the Marriott, but for the awesome price and everything else that I mentioned I am so glad that I booked this hotel and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I was making plans to attend my son's wedding and I wanted to stay in a hotel within walking distance of the Riverwalk in San Antonio. After spending time comparing prices and locaions, I chose the Red Roof Inn. The accommodations were comfortable, the price was right. My room had all the conveniences. I had a refrigerator and a microwave oven. The location was perfect. I walked to the Alamo and Riverwalk every morning. The staff at the Red Roof Inn were friendly and very professional. San Antonio is one of my favorite places. I look forward to spending my next vacation in San Antonio and I plan to stay at the Red Roof Inn.
