We choose to stay at a Residence Inn whenever possible as we've really enjoyed the quality of the room, facilities and service. This is possibly the lowest on the Residence Inn totem pole. The service was great. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was decent. Our only complaint was the facility itself. The gym was not as well equipped. There was only an outdoor pool. The room's bed was not very comfortable as it was quite soft and saggy. We also had a bad experience with the guests staying in the floor above us. They were noisy. The staff were able to eventually get them to settle down. Location is great. Close to UT and 6th Street. We also were able to get to Zilker Park and the Austin Children's Museum in 5 mins.

The location is central to UT, great, quirky resturaunts on S. Congress (recommend the Magnolia Cafe) and minutes from the numerous outdoor activities of Zilker Park and Lady Bird Lake. The staff were courteous and very helpful. The room although fine, smelled older than it really was. The primary concern that I had was the football fan who was sleeping off his 6th street post game celebration on the sofa near the lobby. I would have expected security to have escorted the student to his room or from the premises.
