While the decor, aesthetics, and general reception are great, the customer service and professionalism from the front desk is completely sub-par and below standard for any hotel within this price per night range. I was completely taken by surprise and frankly, shocked when I realized minor construction on a door lock was going on in the room next to mine. Apparently, management thought it a good business idea to begin the deconstruction and removal of the lock with the requisite banging, clanging, kicks and other associated noises at 9:30 pm!! When I called the front desk to complain, the female rep advised that she didn't know when it was going to finish but that it would continue--completely uncaring that after taking two separate airplane rides to get to NY, encompassing a total of 15 hours, one flight from a recovering war zone no less, all I want to do is sleep and rest in order to be somewhat recovered from passing two continents and three time zones and to be prepared for a meeting tomorrow morning. This definitely isn't going to happen. Thus, as a general rule, I advise anyone staying here to ask in advance if any construction or other loud noises will occur during sleeping hours. I am more than shocked at the poor and inane service.

We stayed here in August to celebrate our daughters 13th birthday. We are a family of four, my husband, 13 year old daughter, 9 year old son and myself. The hotel staff was so welcoming and helpful in every way. We arrived a few hours ahead of check in time, but they allowed us to check in early. I had requested a couple of treats to be in our room when we checked in. They didnt have them available at check in, but the treats were in our room when we returned from the broadway show, along with a balloon bouquet and a birthday card for our daughter! Anything we needed or asked for during our 4 day stay was taken care of with a smile! The rooms are very spacious and clean. The kitchen is quite attractive and very useful for keeping snacks and drinks. The hot complimentary breakfast was good, we often took our plates of food back to our rooms and reheated our breakfasts as we each got showered and realy for our day. The hotel is in a great location. An easy walk in one direction to Herald Square and all its fabulous shops, just a couple of blocks from the Empire State Building, or walk or cab to Times Square and Broadway. My only complaint is that they need to upgrade the mattresses on the fold out couches, or offer cots.

This was a great value for Manhattan. It was within walking distance of Times Square, Central Park, and many other popular New York hot spots. The staff was very friendly & helpful. When we arrived, there was only 1 operation elevator & the staff went out of their way to make sure people didn't have to wait too long for the elevator. The complimentary buffet breakfast was excellent - great if you have a family! The rooms were quite large (with a full kitchen) and the beds were extra comfortable. My husband and I would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I spent 5 days there to celebrate our anniversary?our first visit to ?the big apple?. The rooms were a little small, but were very clean and well furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the hot complimentary breakfast, but be warned, they get very busy from about 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Be there before 8:30 and you are fine. The location was excellent for us, within walking distance of Bryant Park, the Rockefeller Center, many Broadway Theaters, ABC and NBC studios?even Central Park if you don?t mind a couple mile walk. We totally enjoyed our stay?will stay there again if we return.

The room had a full kitchenette with microwave, full size refrigerator, toaster, dishes, etc. It was really convenient to be able to go to the corner store and buy midnight snacks or breakfast for the next day.
The front desk staff was very matter of fact. They weren't overly friendly (it is NYC, lots of people, not everyone will be gushy!). There wasn't a bellman that we saw -- which we liked because we can wheel our own suitcases, not a big deal. There typically was a security guard near the door and you have to use your room key to get to the upper floors.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!
