We regularly pass through the Portland area and have been looking for a quiet, clean, convenient and reliable place to spend a couple nights on a regular basis. This hotel is part of a cluster of three Marriott hotels – Courtyard across the street to the North and Fairfield across the parking lot to the South – next to I5. Clean and convenient it is. The breakfast is very good but, repeatedly, there has been insufficient space to accommodate all and many guest resort to carrying their meal to their rooms. There is also one guest who seems to be a semi-permanent resident and piles the food high on his multiple plates while others wait. Some front desk staff are nice and pleasant, others are less so inclined. The main issue with this place is the noise. On our first stay, there was a regular repeating thumping noise that woke us at 5:30 am, obviously from some kind of machinery or hotel-related activity. This past Easter weekend (2010), there was a loud commotion outside complete with screams and verbal abuse – a fight between guests but I could not get much information from the staff – that required 11 police cars, a fire rescue truck and an ambulance, and that lasted over three hours until past 1:00am. Hardly what I would expect from a Marriott hotel located in a cul-de-sac away from bars and restaurants. We are now looking for an alternative.

This hotel was very clean and the 2 bedroom with a living room was the perfect size for our family. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff was very attentive and accomodating. The kids loved the pool, although it was not heated. We would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.

I highly recomend this property it is extremely clean, the staff is very friendly and professional and represent the Marriott brand very well. THe breakfast is done very nicely the outdoor courts and pool are well maintained and clean. They go above and beyond in assisting you in anything that you need! We stayed in a 2 bedroom [4 of us ] 2 queen beeds pull out queen sofa, it was no different than having a 3 bedroom! very large and modern . A FUlly equiped kitchen with full size fridge, stove and microwave. THis property is an exceptional value!!

This is a new facility and as such, I was pleased with the rooms and general appearance. However, if the free breakfast and managers evening reception is important to you, you will be very disappointed. Food, when available, was rubbery and bland. They ran out of many items, including their collapsable, plastic forks. Beyond that, the Business Center internet connection was flakey. They suggested I go across the street to the Courtyard and use theirs. Very overpriced for what you get.
