Stayed at the Ritz in January 2010. First trip to Hawaii. Stay was incredible. Will definitely go back to the Ritz and nowhere else. Rental car is a must. Treated like family by the staff. We were sad to leave our new friends. Umbrella is a must but the quick showers keep things cool. Went for two weeks but stayed for three. Words canmnot describe the Ritz and Maui. Best place on earth.

This was my first time in Maui and I was teetering between staying in Kapalua, Kanapali, and Hana. Kapalua ended up being the right choice and The Ritz Carlton was excellent. Our Ocean View Room, was in fact an Ocean View Room with gorgeous views of the ocean and Plantation Course. The room reminded my fiance and I of a Tommy Bahama Restaraunt and had a great bed and sizeable bathroom. The Balcony was big enough for a table and two chairs and was a nice place to sit and have coffee and watch the sunrise. The great thing about the Ritz is that is away from all the other resorts. D.L. Fleming Beach is a very secluded and was never crowded during our stay. Also, from the Ritz you have access to all the other beaches in Kapalua and we snorkled and watched surfers at many of the surounding coves and beaches. We also enjoyed hiking and jogging along the shoreline via the Costal Trail. The concierge desk was very helpful in scheduling activities and were always pleasant to work with. The food is good, but the value is not their as most plates are about $* more then an expensive restaraunt in the states - odd considering we ate mostly fish which are native. I would venture out and eat outside the resort - try Merrimans down the road, its delicious, also the GC restaraunts were suprisingly reasonable in comparison. If you do stay here rent a car. Kapalua gets a lot of rain and cloud cover and you will want to be able to leave if the sun doesn't come out. Rain passes quick and when the sun is shining this place is blue/green gorgeous!!! An absolute lush paradise.

I am very particular when it comes to hotels. Especially when it comes to cleanliness of the bathroom, sheets, furniture and floor. This resort met my expectations fully. My husband and I stayed there on our honeymoon and loved it. The people were nice and friendly and the facility was very large and spacious. We plan to return. We would recommend this facility highly.
