Never again. they filled the hotel with locals which were rude, pushy, shovy people with no manners. We were there last year and had no complaints at all, could not wait to get back. Took a friend with us this time and were absolutely ashamed of it. Not to mention the bugs in the beds. Many other issues and yes the elevators are a joke. So Long Mexico.

First of all the hotel is NOT on Emerald Bay. The Riu is the last hotel on Mazatlans Cerritor Beach - a long way from anything - but so it the Casa Bonita. It is FULL of kids - mostly bad behaving Mexica ones the food is boreing - all buffet. There are much better values in the hotels closer to town.

First of all, it was exactly what the pictures showed except for the mob of people. It was an absolute mad house. The girl at the front desk told us that it's always busy. The first thing that struck me was that the lobby is not air conditioned. Our wait to check in was about half an hour. The rooms were air conditioned and quite nice. We were on the sixth floor and had an awesome view of the ocean. We never did get in the pools because of all of the kids. I guess they close the pools at 7pm to chemically treat them. The food was buffet only(I hate buffet). The elevator situation was a joke. I believe there were 6 elevators. Atleast 1 was not running. And they were small. If you like being in a sardine can, it's great. We used the stairs probably 75% of the time. Gives your calves a good workout. When we first got in the room we discover that the batteries in the tv remote were dead. It took 3 calls and 2 visits to the front desk to get that resolved. The sports bar was a good place to hang out. Air conditioned. And you can really enjoy the 'all inclusive'. I can't say we didn't have some fun, but it would have been better knowing what exactly to expect.

The hotel is beautiful from the outside, but once upon check-in you will almost immediately find the first and possibly biggest flaw...6 elevators for 24 floors and almost 1000 rooms!!! you wait FOREVER for an elevator going up or down. Secondly, there were no bellboys so you had to lug your luggage up to your room yourself in those pain in the butt elevators. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly, however there were many of the employees there who seemed angry at the world and in turn were rude to my wife which I took offense to. Not all of them were rude, however any more than 1 rude employee I find to be unacceptable. The pools are very nice, but if you plan on drinking in the pools, plan your bathroom breaks. The bathrooms are nowhere near the pools and they are very inconvenient. You also need to wake up at 7AM to reserve a spot at one of two specialty restaurants with seating for maybe 35-40 people. All and all, I would HIGHLY recommend NOT staying here!!! Not worth the money and the headaches.
