Perfect location. Management definitely needs improvement however the staff is very friendly and helpful with everything in their power. Don't expect luxury because you will be disappointed as most of the people who already wrote a bunch of negative reviews - you get exactly what you pay for.

for the price in down town miami I really can not complain. but i am 6' 4'' 260lb and i was a bit on edge in the lobby. mind you nothing happened, it just looked gangster, and the guest were loud, there were no staff personal present. the Valet looked like a car thief, yes I said it. and i am African American black male. but tattoos, sagging pants and bandanas dont make me want to hand over the keys to my range rover. but valet is the only option in the property. this hotel was once very nice, it has just seen better days. I would not stay there again with my parents and kids, but with the fellas, maybe.

Checkin took for ever, especially when they had to look in a special location for Travelocity registrations. Finally we got a key and went to our room. But wait, there was someone already in that room. Back for a new registration. Rooms were large. Ours was clean but other people complained of dirt. We were luck, some had no wash cloths, we had one (the first night). There was no coffee in the room and breakfast did not start till 8:00. No place local to get coffee so we waited. No decaf for my wife. The good news was that the regular was weak enough that she could drink it wihtout effect. Breakfast was not worth the price (free). I chose the hotel due to the wifi internet. Wide area is a misnomer, you had to come downstairs to the loby to access the internet. Finally, to add insult to injury, they wanted to charge $* for the safe in the room whether you use it or not.

We had no heat in our room during a very cold period in Miami. They gave us three thin blankets and no price adjustment. Desk clerk was not friendly. The continental breakfast was 2 cold stale croissants and water or coffee! The price looked very good and we overpaid for the room and experience! I wonder if the airconditoning works? It lookeed like some of the towels we were given had been previously used--they were wet and wrinkled! The lock on the door was broken. It was late and we had no place else to go so we stayed the night.

On checking in they tried to charge me an extra $2/night for a "safety deposit box fee." --totally bogus: I paid in advance via Travelocity. My room was dirty, scuffs on wall, hot and cold faucets were reversed in tub. There was no hot water for two days of my week-long stay. Bathroom poorly lit. My friends in another room had a stopped up toilet. They were told to use the toilet in the lobby until maintenance showed up on Monday (this was Saturday) -- they eventually asked for the plunger and cleared it themselves. My other friends in another room both developed skin rashes and hives from something in their bed -- insects? chemicals? who knows? I had to raid the maid's cart myself for towels, glasses, and shampoo, as these items were not regularly or reliably replaced. There is no wireless internet in the rooms, even though on my bedside table, there was a thing called a "wireless internet box," complete with blinking green lights and "data ports." There was no internet in the lobby either for about half my stay. The desk help were surprisingly rude and evasive when questioned about any of these peculiarities. Music in lobby was a local radio station played loudly through broken speakers -- very grating. Lobby is dark, low ceilings --- poor feng shui -- bad vibes. There was no coffee-maker in my room, though the website says there will be. The continental breakfast was only offered between 8 am and 9 am which is not really useful if you have to be on your way somewhere. No worries though, because you don't really want it: Breakfast was coffee (I didn't try it), orange juice (very watery) and stale croissants -- so stale as to be inedible. Avoid this hotel.
