Roadway Inn used to be called The Broker's Inn as the signs are still there. From inside your hotel room you can hear your neighbors talking in the hallway and slamming their doors. Maid turns off heat after cleaning your room (I stayed during the Christmas holiday). Too many sport channels on TV and no CNN. Lobby is Victorian style and decorated for Christmas! People at front desk were very helpful. Can't beat the price. There is a restaurant, bar and on-premise hair salon. Just off Baseline next to CU's Williams dormitory on 30th.

While this hotel was both affordable and conveniently located (although there is a lot of construction which causes traffic), there were a few snaggs with our stay. We arrived at midnight after an exhausting drive. The gentelman at the front desk was very nice, and the lobby is neat. Uppon arrival in our room all I wanted to do is sleep. The sheets had obviously not been changed. There were crumbs in the bed and what looked like a beer stain near my pillow. When we turned on the telivision and most of the channels were not working, I decided that my book was a good idea. The walls were stained and filthy. We were so tired we just went to sleep in dirty sheets! When we woke up house keeping came by. She was super nice, and vaccumed, changing the contaminated bedding for us. Breakfast consisted of smelly old english muffins, still frozen fruit and eggs fresh from the microwave. All of this took place next to a bar upstairs on haphasardly strewn about coctail tables. Forget about table cloths. Our plans changed and we had to stay another night. We changed rooms, specifically requesting that the sheets be clean and a refrigerator be present. (you have to ask for one) This would have been fine had they not charged me a different ammount than the one that I had agreed uppon. It was only $* more but it still bothers me, on principle. I did not authorize the ammount they charged me. Overall I would say that money is better spent somewhere else.

I really wanted to like this place. I read the bad reviews, but I thought, "No, our trip will be different!" Of course, I was wrong. For our Valentine's weekend, two couples embarked on this trip to Boulder, and we both booked rooms in this hotel. There were no king beds available, as far as we could see. Our two double beds both had large dents in them, making it impossible to sleep flat on the bed. For example, one bed would have you rolled onto the floor, because the bottom left was bent downward signficantly. The other bed was dented in the middle, so my boyfriend and I rolled toward the middle. Then there's the hot tub. We went to use it after a long day on the slopes with aching muscles. The hotel staff informed us it was chemically imbalanced, and they locked the door to the hot tub. Then they called our room to tell us they'd changed their minds, and we could use it. (We already changed out plans and ditched the hot tub idea.) Another hotel staff member came knocking on our door to tell us we could use the hot tub, insisting we would be fine. How unprofessional! We felt very uneasy about it. Last, our showers were both disappointing. The water never really got hot, and the water pressure was terribly low. On top of all of this, the facilities in the rooms and lobby are old and grungy. The only plus was that the television had a wide selection of channels, but our friends in the other room only got one channel. All in all, I would advise against this hotel. That was the worst bed I have ever slept in. Drafty room, weak shower and strange service = never again.

Avoid this hotel if you value your money and reputation

We stayed at this hotel because my husband was taking a class and we got a break on the rate. We had read some other reviews that were awful but we thought we would give it a chance. The room was clean but really needed some updating. The bathroom was dated as well. The toilet did not flush well; you had to flush at least 3 times just to get it to go down. the tub filled with water when you took a shower and drained out later very slowly. The bed had no bedspread and I guess I should have asked about that but I really didn't think anything of it and we didn't need it. Wrong move!!! After we got home we found a charge on our credit card that we couldn't figure out so we called the hotel and were told we were charged because we stole the bedspread! My husband tried to talk to the desk clerk to tell them that there never was a bedspread, only the sheet and blanket but they were very rude and would not remove the charge, we tried talking to the desk managers but they were uncooperative as well. We have spent 4 days trying to get in touch with the General manager and have left numerous messages-all to no avail. we have had to go to the bank and file a claim as we didn't authorize the charge and now my husband will need to get a new card because they had to cancel his. How did we know they wouldn't decide that we stole something else. I have never stolen anything in my life and I certainly wouldn't start with some tacky old bedspread from a third rate hotel. Do not stay here!!!!

The two rooms I experienced were unclean (McDonalds wrappers rolled up and sitting on top of the TV stand, pillow cases and bedsheets probably not changed--found long black hairs on the pillow and I am a blond balding guy). The food in the restaurant--particulary the complimentary breakfast was marginal at best. The lobby carpets were cleaned and left to dry--as I stood waiting for a colleague, my leather shoes became soaked and I actually stuck to the carpeting when I went to walk away from the spot I was standing. Avoid if at all possible.
