That is if you don't have breakfast in the hotel: * euros per person (USD 25). Hotel is a little obsolete and completely lacks charm inside (insignificant furniture, sparse decorations, fake old prints on the walls and careless paint renovation job). Location may seem posh (quite close to Meurice and Ritz hotels) but clearly the hotel is not. Still, you are within walking distance of major attractions: Louvres, Orsay, Notre Dame, Latin quarter, opera, Place Vendome etc.). There is a small shop on the right (when facing the hotel) offering great breakfast options (great coffee, outstanding hot chocolate and pastries, succulent smoothies). Pool was open from 4 pm to 8 pm and was emanating extremely strong chloric fumes. Staff was helpful and professionnal.

The staff was personal and helpful. The first room I checked into was not up to what I had expected. But just by calling and asking for a room change, they accommodated me immediately. Was given a delightful room overlooking an interior courtyard.

Stay period 11 OCT - 18 OCT. One block from Louvre. Across the bridge from d'Orsy Museum. Tuilleries Gardens across the street (Rue de Rivoli). Restaurants all around. Hotel still undergoing renovation. First room offered was large but in need of much renovation. Second room offered was in executive suite area...only 3 rooms in area. Bathroom was updated. Rest of room was clean but not updated. Executive Suite Lounge served coffee & tea and sweets/dried fruit starting at 12:00 noon til mid-night. Nice pool and spa area. Bar was nice & clean. Overall service and location are pluses. Once fully renovated, this will be a true 4-star...but not now. Le Carrousel Bistro between hotel and Louvre is excellent for food and drink. Very English speaking friendly. Found all Parisians encountered to be very friendly. U.S. dollar fairs poorly against the Euro. New McD's across street from Louvre. There is a Starbucks IN the Louvre

What a great hotel, staff and location! Saint James and Albany is centrally located with many fine restaurants in the area. Our room was clean and comfortable. We couldn't have been treated better by the front desk staff. We would definitely stay at the Saint James and Albany again.

Our first night we cozied into our beds from a long day of traveling. I just happened to explore the fabric headboard... that's when I discovered the additional occupants - BED BUGS! These little critters had been around for a while. They were quite large and there was a fair amount of fecal matter within the fabric. I panicked and headed for the lobby. They had a very casual response "We'll send someone up to fix the problem." We had to argue to get a new room! After that experience I didn't sleep well. In addition, we didn't find the staff very accommodating and the rooms were filthy. I do admit, the location was nice. So, it's up to you... You may spend more money fumigating your house to get rid of the friends that came home in your luggage than you did on the hotel. It wasn't a pleasant experience.
