I did not expect much, at first, from a Holiday Inn in the Caribbean... but I have to say that this hotel blew my mind. This hotel is brand new, with this modern minimalistic design, soft lights in the hallways, quiet business like ambiance and very neat. The staff is acknowledgeable, very welcoming and the restaurant on the main floor is good. They have also a gym on the upper floor, open 24hs a day, which is a plus when you are on the road all day and a swimming pool on the roof top with a great view of the city where you can rest and enjoy the evening. Th rooms are cosy and well equiped, modern and the bathroom is of decent size and fully equiped. There are restaurants in the neighborhood at walking distance and if you want to go to the colonial district, you will have no problem finding a cab at the door of the hotel, day or night. you have also a deli on the corner for late snack or local dulces. Overall, very comfortable hotel in the city, very conveniently located and safe.

I went to Santo Domingo just for a weekend to attend to a wedding. In the past I used to stay at hotels located at the Malecon (coastal area), but the cons of staying in this area is that you are too far away from downtown. This hotel is on the middle of the action on Lincoln Avenue, close to very fine restaurants and shoping areas. The rooms are huge and modern, very comfortable and clean, with a very attractive modern decor. And if you add to the above pros, the room rates and excellent service provided by all the staff, you got the perfect hotel located in downtown Santo Domingo
