Returning from WY and CO on I 70, with my fellow travelers, we were looking for two king bed suites for two couples. We first stopped at Comfort Inn and Suites, but they had no kings left. The clerk suggested that we try the Sleep Inn directly behind them as they were both owned by the manager. That we did, and we got our rooms around 4PM in temperatures of 108 degrees outside. Discovered that the Wi-FI was very poor on the fourth floor but the air conditioning was great. Went to buy drinks (located only on the 1st and 3rd floor.....much to my surprise as well as the ice machines), and discovered that the machines were empty. Inquiry at front desk revealed that the Manager had the only keys and was not present when the delivery truck came that day to restock the two floors. Bad move on the part of the manager! The rooms were great but more accountability should be shouldered by the management as I had to walk in the hot afternoon to a convenience store just to get a soda. I might try and stay there one more time but the lack of attention by the general management is something to contemplate.

My girlfriend and I stayed over night in Hays Ks. this hotel was about the only one left with a room. The Staff was wonderful, greeting us with a smile. The girl behind the counter was very polite and very knowledgeable about the town. The Suite was big and clean. The hallways were also very clean and quite. The pool was not to big or small and the hot tub was great working order. Not so impressed with the excerise room. they had two treadmills and only one was working. Checking in and out was easy and fast. I will stay there again.

I have never stayed at a Sleep Inn before and would stay there again. The pool area was very very small and even though I did not swim my eyes were burning. I don't think they could have put any more chlorine in that pool! The hotel was very nice, fastest check in EVER and check out was the same. The breakfast was shocking when you see continental breakfast you think of warm juice, bad coffee and hard dough nuts and muffins with no where to sit. This place actually had a dining area and the his was the waffle maker. My husband was in heaven. The rooms were clean and quite, what more can you ask for. The only thing that I could complain about was that the staff didn't appear to want to be there. Not very appealing when you've been on the road with 2 small children. All you want to see is a smiling face, but that didn't happen. Oh well, I still had a good time and the hotel is still great.

My husband and I went for a reunion at Fort Hays State and stayed here. The hotel was very nice- it is very new! The staff was courteous, the entire hotel was extremely clean. There was a lot of construction out front- they are widening Vine street- and it sits right behind the Comfort Inn and Suites. The breakfast was okay- I was expecting more, but they had a nice selection of bagels and breads. The dining area is large, and they have high chairs for the little ones. The shower was good too- not one of the water saver shower heads that barely spit water at you like you usually have in western Kansas. No, this was a full blown get the shampoo out of your hair real live shower head! It was also a very quiet hotel which can be difficult to find in a college town. We were very comfortable and would stay again.
