My family and I stayed at Sooner Legends a few weeks ago while we were in town for a softball tournament. We had a great time and really enjoyed the hotel and restaurant. We had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and popcorn every night, a wonderful breakfast buffet every morning and were treated great by all of the staff. After checking in, we were going to our room upstairs when a man insisted on helping us with our bags. He was so friendly, happy and funny. We later found out he was one of the maintenance workers. Everytime we saw him, he went out of his way to check on us and to make a funny comment. When we got inside our room, I noticed the window faced the highway. At first this concerned me, but I didn't have time to change rooms because we were late for a game. When we got back late that night, I thought I'd be awake all night listening to the highway traffic. However the rooms were really quiet and I didn't hear any noise at all. The rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable and everything looked new. From what I heard, the hotel was completely remodeled and opened about 3-4 years ago. My only complaint was that our DVD player didn't work. It was about midnight when I called the front desk to let them know. I thought they'd fix it the next day, but within 2-3 minutes one of the staff came and installed a brand new one. We had great service and a nice room for not a lot of money. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Norman and will be back in the future.

My husband and I travel to Norman frequently for football/basketball games and to visit friends. When we're in town, we always stay at Sooner Legends. This is a very clean, comfortable, and affordable hotel. The staff are friendly and they always make us feel at home during our stay. We also enjoy the bar and restaurant. My husband likes the ribs and pulled pork. My favorite is the chicken enchiladas and homemade chips/salsa/queso. Highly recommended!

Chose the hotel for the uniqueness, we where going to the OU vs Texas A&M game. The added features where the attached bar and restaurant plus the breakfast buffet. Things started going south when we arrived. Once we checked in, we walked into the hall of the hotel?nice pictures of former Sooner greats but the smell of stale cigarette smoke was overpowering.
Once we got into the room we found a signed taped to the mini fridge and microwave saying??If you want to rent the refrigerator, contact the desk, cost is $10 a night.? I walked down to the front desk to complain that for $160 a night they could unlock the EMPTY refrigerator. (By the way it was not unplugged, so this isn?t an energy use issue) I was told my the manager that not all rooms have fridges and it?s NOT FAIR! That I have a fridge and others don?t for the same price. I related it to an exit row isle seat on a plane?not everyone gets one, but you all pay the same price? For $160 a night they wouldn?t budge. They just stick it to people on game day weekends. The manager even made a snide comment about if I want to check out she could take care of that for me?I told her to find me a room comparable room in town for the same price on a game day weekend and I would.
Next issue was the attached bar?At first it was ok, a little too smoky but ok. Appropriately it was a sports bar, another reason we picked this hotel was the attached bar/restaurant so we didn?t have to drive. The Sports bar goes karaoke on Friday night so instead of have a few drinks and dinner with friends watching the Friday games, we had to endure THE WORST karaoke I have ever seen in my entire life?fully equipped with some strung out air guitarist performing table to table?VERY WEIRD.
The free breakfast was more boot camp quality than hotel breakfast quality.
For the money stay a few block down at the La Quinta Inn and suites. They don?t charge for the Refrigerator and Microwave. -
This is a wonderful, spotlessly clean, family owned hotel.

This was a really fun hotel to stay in. It is a large hotel, and it is really easy to get to from the interstate. The entire hotel is full of sports memorabilia from the Oklahoma Sooners, and it is interesting to look at even if you aren't a Sooner fan. Our room was spotless, and it was decorated in really pretty colors instead of the normal dull, desert southwest decor that you find in many hotel chains. There is an attached restaurant too, and it has wonderful food, especially the barbeque. Normally I don't eat at hotel restaurants, but I made an exception for this place because they are known for good barbeque. I highly recommend a stay here because this hotel was great, and it's unique. I was also glad that I stayed here because I supported a family owned business rather than a cookie cutter style national chain hotel.
