Very friendly staff, room clean and beds were great to sleep on. The pool was warm and the hot tub was very warm! The room was quiet throughout the night. Breakfast was good.

We brought our 3 children with us and the kids had fun. Staff are very helpful and breakfast was great. It was a little drive from the state fair, but it was worth it. Shampoo and lotion dispensers are nice to have as well as real glass drinking glasses (instead of plastic cups). Had we been without our children, we may have taken advantage of the bikes you can borrow for free to explore the nearby bike trail. I will definitely use this location again. Not being too familiar with area, I often miss the turn off to the driveway. I would like better signage.

The front desk person was very helpful and when we asked for directions to the The Machine Shed, she not only gave us directions but said that Wildwood Lodge was affiliated with the Machine Shed and gave us coupons for a free appetizer and dessert. The decor of the facility had a very casual and "homey" atmosphere. We enjoyed the large warm pool and hot tub. The exercise room had limited equipment but the treadmill and elliptical that we used were in good working order. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide selection of foods.

The Wildwood is charming when looking at the design and brand decor. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. The only problem we had was with the noise that came from the heating unit in the room. To say that the system was loud would be an understatement. We got very little sleep due to this issue. When we discussed this problem with the front desk employee, she didn't seem to be too concerned. The breakfast was standard for this kind of property. I would not return due to the noise factor.

We always stay at the Wildwood when in Des Moines to visit family. State Fair TIme, Christmas, it doesn't matter when. This place is top notch and VERY affordable. Clean, attentive staff, great atmosphere, free WiFi. What more can I ask for? Well, it would be nice if there were more of these hotels!
