The location was good, but parking is inside a cramped courtyard, making maneuvering in and out a challenge onto a very busy street. If you're out late you may not have a space when you return in which case you have to find street parking or park in the Blockbuster Video lot between 10PM and 10AM which the manager suggested. The check-in area was extremely small, and reeked of curry (the owners are Indian). The desk clerk (owner?) was pretty rude to the people checking in ahead of me, but was okay to me. No elevator, and steep steps even with 3 floors. We were on the top floor so had to drag 3 heavy suitcases upstairs... The room was a pleasant surprise considering the decor of the building, which looked like it was straight out of Bombay. The furnishings were extremely nice and included a flat screen TV, and the room was spotless. There's a patio-type area on the third floor if you want to sit outside. We didn't have any towels when we got into our room, even though it was past 4:00 PM, and we had to wait about an hour after asking a housekeeper for towels as she had to finish cleaning rooms first... Not sure if we'd stay again, but the price was great considering it's San Francisco. Palace of Fine Arts was very close by as were The Presidio and Fort Point and Golden Gate Bridge. A fairly quick drive to Fisherman's Wharf.

We stayed here mainly because of the price. The room was small, but clean and in fairly good shape. I agree with a previous review about the parking problem. We were apprehensive about leaving the parking area for fear that we would lose our spot and have to park on the street. It's not a big deal, and we would stay there again.

We arrived at the hotel at 11pm and there was no parking available. The owners told us to park on the street, but to be ready to move the car before 9am for street sweeping. There was no free parking for us at this hotel. In addition, our room had no towels. We called room service and it took them half and hour to bring towels. I do not recommend this hotel.

Good things first: low price, free parking, nice staff, plenty of hot water for shower. Now for the not so great stuff: not as near to Fishermans' Wharf as some reviews made it sound, wall paper peeling off in room, very bad TV reception, internet was free but signal didn't reach our room, dirty grout in shower, continental breakfast was lowest quality I've seen, very tight parking spots.
