We got what we were looking for: a location near the beach at a low price. It was a little noisy, but not so bad we couldn't sleep. It's a sweet establishment and within walking distance of other family-owned restaurants and shops.

The hotel is old just like many of the hotels in Cambria but it was clean. Within walking distance to all the shops and beach. The receptionist was very nice we arrived after 10 pm we called and she waited for us with no problems. Very nice continental breakfast in the AM

This is the most horrible motel in Morro Bay. It hasn't been updated since it opened in the 60's. The place was filthy and run down. The breakfast was cold, stale danishes/donuts & watered down OJ. The owners know nothing about service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

So my entire family stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday. The rooms were okay, older but cute and in a great location. Our door kept sticking but we made it work. I had a problem with the hotel staff though. I had accidentally double booked my room which was my mistake but when I called (twice) to confirm my room they never mentioned that I had double booked. Also, when I arrived, they had given my room key to my sister so when I went in to check in, they stated that I was all set (again, never mentioning the second room). It was not until the next day that I was told I had a second room and would be charged for the previous night. Not only that, the room that was supposedly mine (that I did not stay in) was getting cleaned so obviously someone stayed there. When I tried to pursue this with the hotel management, they blew me off and pretended not to understand what I was talking about. And when I mentioned that I would write a bad review, I was yelled at. To add final insult to injury, the woman claimed that when my mom had checked in, she hadn't supplied a credit card and they wanted to know what I planned to do about it. So while the rooms were cheap and the location good, this place is not worth your money.

I just came back from the Dolphin Inn where I was yelled at by the man behind the desk. Not sure if he was an owner or employee, all I know is I've never been treated so rudely in my life. Long story short, I checked in early and through a language barrier was given a smaller room then I had booked. Later on I asked for a room with a bigger bed as I had booked but, was told the motel was booked. Although the vacancy sign was shining over my head. I then asked for extra blankets and pillows for a make shift bed for my children on the floor. The rude man behind the counter fought with me and did not want to give me extra blankets, then he proceeded to loose his temper when I asked for two pillows. He was standing in front of a storage closet full of linens and told me he had no pillows, when I could see a mtn of pillows behind him. I personally, run a customer service line and this guy needs to go back to customer service 101. I hope people read this and find another place to stay. I will pay double the price at another hotel before I will ever give the Dolphin Inn another dime.
