At the right price (I paid under* U.S.) the hotel was great. I was visiting a sick relative at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. It was very close and the accommodations were great. The real negative was the restaurant except for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was reasonable and great. Otherwise the food was overpriced Italian and was not good. The hotel is uphill from the Orchard Street shopping with Takashimaya Department store and many food options right there. The hotel was quiet and the rooms were very comfortable with a touch of elegance.

Aware of the construction next door before check in. Asked and got a top floor room but still impacted by the noice as early as 8:30am even on Saturday. You should ask for a room NOT over looking the swimming pool where the construction is next to. Located on a small hill, about 5 minutes walking distance to the major shopping street Orchard Rd. Easy to find places to buy gifts and taste local foods. Room size is fine and service is fair. Construction next door is still laying down the foundation as of November 08, may take two years to complete the building. Stay there if you can get a special.

They are doing construction next door to the hotel and its very noisy. They even worked during the rain. I tried calling online travel website and never could get them to answer the phone. I tried to get the hotel to move me and they had no desire to even help. And dont even think about an early check-in unless you want to pay for another day. The hotel is located in a good spot for dining and shopping. When friends came to pick us up, they had to park and go inside the hotel to use the phone to call our room because the front desk wouldnt answer the phone. Stay at this hotel again? Not in this lifetime. The room was not worth the money spent.

I had stayed at THE ELIZABETH on numerous business events and a couple on soical issues . . but, I do find that the lobby - - from the past - - with the realaxing waterfall, was more of a positive than a negative. The location for this area as their buffet breakfast is a decline than from the restaurant location (now a billiard room) overlooking the quiet location and the pool. I do enjoy that it is near the Thai Embassy and convenient to the subway. Accomodations are small, but very clean and confortable. The front desk reception has declined too over the previous years.

Upon Check in, the guaranteed room type was not available, cost of obtaining an upgrade room and type eventually offered was disappointing, as total cost exceeded that we would have paid for a 5 star hotel, not as for this 2-3 star property.
