We recently stayed at the Edition Waikiki in February 2011 for 7 days. As a husband/wife team in the music business we are very experienced World travelers, we travel so frequently that we never took the time to write a review. However, there was something so special about this hotel that we felt compelled to take a moment to put out the good word. This is really one of the top 3 hotels that we have stayed in. All aspects of the EDITION Waikiki were impeccable, starting with top-notch friendliness and professionalism in the staff. We even had the opportunity to meet Michael, the general manager. It is rare indeed to encounter a general manager with such a warm demeanor and who was personally attentive to making sure we were taken care of. He clearly pays attention to every detail on a five-star level and it was refreshing to see that this was shared by the entire staff. Bravo to all! Our room was a terrace ocean view room (on the odd #'s pool side). The rooms were spotless (the housekeeping staff wonderful), bed was super comfortable (Frette linens), both sunrise and sunset swimming pools were a perfect oasis and then of course there was the lovely beach and beach lagoon (a stones throw away). The Spa and Gym were both a-list. There were many fabulous jogging paths at our doorstep, including the lagoon next store (3 times around = 1 mile). When we needed a break from the sun, we enjoyed our walks to the Ala Moana Mall for self-serve frozen yogurt at Orange Grove. This is a gem of a hotel, which during our stay attracted a laid-back classy (not loud). The Edition Waikiki exceeded all of our expectations. We have already booked our return (very soon).

What a great hotel! For our 4th trip to Oahu we opted to stay outside of central Waikiki and took our chances on this new hotel. It feels very swanky from the moment you step into the lobby to your super comfy room. The beds are very comfortable and the ocean view is just beautiful. They even have a quiet pool area #40read: no children allowed#41 so you can really relax and soak up the sun without worrying about kids splashing around. Employees are quick to respond to any requests although our maid service was a bit spotty. This hotel is not beachfront though but it a short walk to the quieter part of Waikiki Beach where you actually have choices of where to lay out your stuff. Great hotel to getaway and relax but keep in mind you cant really walk to the shops restaurants to Waikiki.
