My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Franklin Hotel. The rooms are amazing....big windows (with a welcome option for fresh air), extremely comfy beds, beautiful and functional furniture, modern flat screen TVs, and a neat piped-in music option. The bed has a ton of pillows, but if you don't like them, you can request other options, including down filled pillows, full body pillows, etc. The complimentary breakfast was relaxing and tasty. This was no "make your own waffle" affair, but a real sit-down breakfast with service in a bright, airy dining area. The hotel has a nice atrium lobby. The location is convenient. Unlike most Chapel Hill lodging, you can walk from the Franklin to shopping and campus. We didn't have many interactions with the staff, but everybody was friendly and accommodating. We got a great price through Travel Website; the hotel was worth about double what we paid! We will definitely be back.

We have visited Chapel Hill for years on Thanksgiving and stayed at many different places. This one is by far the best. The location on Franklin street is as convenient as it gets in Chapel Hill for shopping, restaurants and the University. Extras are at a quality not found in a hotel at this value; complimentary FULL service breakfast; afternoon cookies; turn down service with chocolates; pillow menu; flat screen TV; covered parking. Bed is comfortable and high in quality. Service excelled. Couple things to watch out for: key card can be difficult at times. Had to get reset. Also shower is a walk in with no bottom lip which is nice but can leak water onto the floor. Note - we got a great value on travelocity for this hotel but it would be just as good if paid full value. Will be very hard to pick any other place to stay in Chapel Hill in the future.

A very lovely hotel situated in the heart of chapel hill, only steps from UNC and approximately a 20 minute drive to Duke. My husband and I booked the hotel through travelocity for a great price. The hotel is beautiful and modern (if you want historic, this is not for you). The room was clean, and the staff friendly, quick, and helpful. Within 5 minutes of my call a playpen for my 7 month old was delivered to my room and a much later than usual check out time was approved thanks to the very understanding morning manager. Will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to anyone visiting the area. BTW the view from our 4th floor room on Franklin was phenomenal and one to be appreciated. My one and only con was the leak on the floor every time we showered but the extra towels fixed that :-}

The room was lovely, the bathroom was fabulous and we had a balcony outside our room. There was a great jazz band playing in the bar that night (a Thursday) which we thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely stay again!
