We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is extremely stylish and comfortable. When we got there the hotel couldn't find our reservation from Travel online so they gave us a free room upgrade for the inconvenience. The bathroom was beautiful with all marble tile, and a huge jacuzzi tub. The bed was extremely comfortable. We slept great! The hotel staff was very kind and courteous. Every time we passed a staff member they helped us with our bags or told us to have a good day! I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

I have stayed at the Genesse Grande three times in the last 2 years and I'm making arrangements for my 4th stay next month. The 1st trip was less than perfect. I politely asked for better service and accomdations the next time. Now I'm treated first class every time I travel there. I l love their beautiful koi pond and oversized fresh flowers in the lobby. The bell hop carried in our 6 bags and disappeared; I had to chase him down to give him a tip. The front desk staff goes the extra mile to answer every question and request. The bartender helped me select the right vintage wine and gave me a special ice bucket for my room; even the waiter made sure the restaurant stayed open longer so I could have a late breakfast. I don't think they were told to treat me special; I saw other guests getting this same VIP attention. For late night snacks - check out the vending machines off the lobby. Traveling from the west coast time zone, that was much appreciated. I've used the fitness center every time. I love the beds. I am a customer for life. If you have an issue, I think it's well worth your time to courteously ask them to help you work it through.

Two years ago I booked a room for my elderly mother, for a special occasion over the course of several days. We tried to have a family dinner there, for 6, and the food was horrendous, too self consciously creative and just plain missed! in terms of taste, although presentation was nice. However the room my mother stayed in had BEDBUGS, and the service at the hotel was disappointing. We expected a 4 star experience, and for the money, should have had it.

My son's law school graduation from SU provided my first chance to visit Syracuse. The Genesse Grande Hotel was recommended and we weren't disappointed. The the grandeur of the lobby brought to mind travel of a bye-gone era. Door men helping with doors, grand chandliers, a small koi pond, and very helpful and curtious staff. The resturant was small, but the abience was wonderful and the food delicious; the cozy, leather seating in the bar was a perfect spot to chat, we choose not to have anything to drink and the staff never bothered us once we declined their services. Our room was rather small, but clean and nicely appointed. Once again there was character in the room's decor- never once did we feel that we were in a chain hotel.
