  Just stayed at the historic Holland. I was hesitant to stay because it is independent, but I decided against the Hampton Inn anyway. Glad I did. I was totally blown away with the hotel interior. The clerk stated it had recently undergone a complete restoration. It turned out great! I love older hotels that have character and charm. The Holland Hotel has both. I was surprised they offer all the amenities of newer hotels and then some. The staff was wonderful and offered a level of customer service you wouldn't expect to find in far west Texas. They also include a free hot breakfast with a lady that cooks your eggs any way you want them. I was impressed. Next time I'm heading to the big bend I'm calling the hotel directly. I found out the Holland has additional discounts available only at the hotel.
