  We stayed here during Comic-Con. The room was clean and reasonably well-appointed. It is conveniently located in the Gaslamp district (near many restaurants, 3 blocks from the convention center). However, the walls and ceiling must be paper thin - we were woken up two nights in a row by people in the neighboring room. Any talking at a moderately loud level could be easily heard in our room. We could hear every step in the room above us. I would not recommend staying here if the hotel is busy - unless you don't mind the noise!

  I had seen the hotel exterior before and thought it looked like a nice place to stay. I was wrong, from the time I checked in and met with a very unfriendly clerk at the desk who told me to READ the instructions on the reception desk about the TV rather than ""share"" it with us, I was off to a bad start. The room was musty, the fireplace was more of a fireplace with about a 15 btu setting (pilot light). Overall, a pretty depressing interior. I DEFINATELY will not stay here again. My suggestion: It is no deal, stay elsewhere

  Except for the location, this place is a dump! it might be historic but so what! the last time they must have upgraded anything had to be 10 years ago! ...

  Except for the location, this place is a DUMP! It might be historic but so what! The last time they must have upgraded anything had to be 10 years ago! For the cost, I so would NOT recommend this place.
