The hotel was not bad at all like everyone else was saying. If you are going to Bretton Woods to go skiing there are only three options for lodging that is close by. The beds were comfortable and there was starbucks coffee every more in the Lobby. The shuttle was great. Just ask the person at the front desk to call for the shuttle and it will be there in less than 5 minutes. The shuttle was great so we did not have to use the car. The shuttle will drop you off, at the Mount Washington Hotel, The Bretton Arms Inn, Bretton Woods Resort or Faybians Station (one of the few restaurants in the area). There is a pool, hot tub and sauna at the Lodge, but there is also a pool at Mount Washington Resort, we used the shuttle to bring us to Mount Washington Resort to use the pool since the Lodge's pool was cold and they had just refilled the hot tub, the Mt Washington Resort does not have a sauna. There are very few eating options in the area. There is no longer a restaurant in the hotel and it does not serve breakfast as it says. The views of rooms where amazing, it is very beautiful up there. This is the best deal if you want to stay near Mount Washington.

Stayed last year. The only complaint I had was that front desk was always so busy, no one answered the phone and we had a column that obstructed our view of our room. But the room was ok and clean and the hot tub was great.

WATCH YOUR BILL!!!!!!!

I stayed at The Lodge because a good friend of mine was getting married at Mount Washington Resort right across the street. We were supposed to get a good deal at the Lodge becuase we were part of the wedding group. However, we were charged much more than the rates posted online a week before the wedding.Although the rooms were adequate, they were nowhere near what we expected considering the high cost of a room. As indicated in the title of this review, it was no better than a Motel 6.
The continental breakfast was a joke. The shuttle service to the Resort was sporadic, at best.
When we arrived at the Lodge, no one was at the front desk. We had to wait over 20 minutes for an employee to show up at the front desk. Finally, we checked in. We gave the clerk a credit card but were assured that the card would not be run since my friend and I were splitting the cost of the room.
The most disturbing thing about The Lodge was the checkout. The clerk, Daniel, could not be bothered to get off the phone with his mother to check us out. Instead he simply ran my credit card without allowing us to review the bill beforehand. When I reviewed the bill (after he already ran my credit card) I discovered that the Lodge charged me an additional $* per night above the agreed to rate. The clerk informed us that he was unaware of who changed our rate or why and that this was not an isolated occurence at that hotel. Apparently, there is no manager on duty on Sundays so he credited my account for the full amount and indicated that a manager would contact us the following day. We did not hear from a manager, however three days later we received a bill for the correct amount. However, concerned with their incompatance, I checked my account online. My account revealed numerous charges and refunds in apparently random amounts. However, after doing the math, the Lodge still charged my account for the additional $* per night that we never agreed to. That, coupled with the fact that I never agreed to any authorization on my credit card in the first place is unacceptable!
STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK! IF YOU DO DECIDE TO STAY THERE, CHECK YOUR BILL CAREFULLY!
