Lovely room - stayed in the Carter Suite - a nice corner room with four big windows, two queen beds, seperate bath and dressing areas and lovely furniture appointments. Very comfortable. Extremely pleasant and professional staff at the front desk, breakfast staff a little less so. Complimentary afternoon tea (2-5 pm) was a nice touch and offered lemonade, ice tea, hot tea, coffee, cookies and scones with appropiate condiments. some of the main area appointments are getting a bit tired in this nearly two century old hotel, but the charm and comfort of the place makes this a minor issue. Walking distance to all points of interest in downtown Middlebury.

Great inn...fun to stay in a quaint village within walking distance to lots of stores. Did not eat there, but looked like a nice dining area. I wish I could have had a manicure/pedicure onsite, or a massage. I was exhausted after skiing!
