Everything was as expected after reading the other reviews, small, clean rooms. Watch out - the bath robes are pretty skimpy. You may not want to walk down the hall to the bathroom in them. The breakfasts were not very good.

04/04/2012The room was about the size of a walk in closet, and some of the rooms didnt even have a bathroom, some guy kept knocking on our door all night ...
the room was about the size of a walk in closet, and some of the rooms didnt even have a bathroom, some guy kept knocking on our door all night and security wouldn't help us. All together the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

Being right off Market street near the Virgin MegaStore, it is so close to transportation, sights, food, shopping and the Warfield. Do not expect the Mariott. In fact, if you want the Mariott, just stay there as it is directly across the street. However, the Mosser is less than 1/2 the price. More geared to younger or single travelers. The tub is shared by the hall, but they give you a bathrobe and a basket with toiletries to take with you. The bathrooms were very clean. This is a historic building, the rooms are small, staircases narrow, and only one (slow) elevator.

I chose this hotel for it's location and value. I was not disappointed. Obviously, the location is fantastic. Powell Street station is one block away and all other ground transportation and eateries and shopping are within a short walk. I had a room with a shared bath. Room was very small, but I knew that going in. Very clean, and I never had an issue with accessability to the shared facilities. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Loved the coffee and muffins in the morning. I only wish they started serving earlier. 7AM is fine if you're local, but travelers from the east coast, like me, need that cup o' joe a little earlier. I plan to stay at the Mosser on my next trip to SF and would recommend it to others.
