The service is superb at this hotel. They made our stay very enjoyable, despite some initial glitches. The only lack of enthusiasm we encountered was from the catamaran staff. Drinks are of course overpriced on the non-inclusive plan. The room service food was also overpriced, and not that great. There is nowhere nearby to eat if you do not like the restaurants on site. They will tell you it is $* each way to the Hip Strip in MoBay; if you can, negotiate directly with a licensed cabdriver. I paid $* each way; others paid less. We also chose a private driver to some sightseeing destinations. I only recommend this if it you feel VERY comfortable with that person, however. The small beach is VERY rocky in the water and out. Rocky as in it will cut your feet! I recommend Negril's 7 mile beach, or Doctor's Cave in MoBay. The pool is also fairly small, and the jacuzzi is very small and bland. The suites were fabulous, with two balconies. The regular rooms were typical "Holiday Inn" style rooms; much too 'blah' and no luxury considering the place and the price. If you can, find tours outside of those that the hotels use for booking; it may be cheaper, as long as they are licensed by the Tourism Board. Shopping is basically non-existent, even with the free shuttle over to the Rose Hall Shoppes.

Once I arrived, I did not leave the property. The pool was inviting and relaxing, the wait staff was attentive, the golf course was pristine. What I liked most about this property was that most of the guests were adults!

My husband and 5-yr-old son and I stayed at the Ritz for 4 nights in April. Upon arrival we were welcomed with champagne and cookies and were escorted to our ocean-view room (amazing view!). The hotel staff were extremely cordial and helpful with anything that we needed. They provided a rollaway bed free of charge since the only rooms available were king bed only ones. The room itself was very nice - bathroom especially was amazing! Housekeeping came twice a day. The pool was a lot of fun. The hotel grounds were amazingly well manicured, and the location right on the beach was nothing short of breathtaking. The setting was peaceful and relaxing and everything we hoped for. Lunch at the Jerk Center (beachside) was fantastic! My only complaint about the resort is that it was extremely expensive. We did not get the all-inclusive option because we didn't think it was worth it for a child - boy were we wrong! The meals were 3-4 times more expensive than they would have been at a nice restaurant at home. The drinks were equally as marked up. Make sure to make reservations for dinner, or you'll have to wait till after 9PM to eat! We got a day pass for the Hilton resort just down the street so our son could go to a water park - definitely worth it for children, and all the food/drinks were included. We recommend using the Tour Desk to book some excursions - the Luminous Lagoon was really neat, and hiking Dunns River Falls was amazing! It was a great trip and we loved the hotel, but next time if we go with children, we would stay somewhere less expensive and with more kids' activities.

This hotel was amazing. We were greeted at the door with drinks, and it didn't take long to check in. We enjoyed the various shows at the hotel, as well as the many bars :) The food was expensive at one restaurant but it was good! I would definitely stay here again if we return to Jamaica. The shopping center for the Rose Hall is expensive but has everything you want. We got our exclusive wedding rings from there :) They are gorgeous and we are the only ones in the states that have them!

The resort was beautiful but the service was horrible except for one waiter ( Germaine at Mango's). The breakfast buffet at Horizon's was inedible. The service at the pool was apathetic and ultimately non-existent. We will not stay here again; we travel a lot and stay primarily at ritz Carlton hotels, but we will make an exception when returning to Jamaica. We also got charged $* in incidentals from minibar & business center that we did not eat/use.
