Just going to this beautiful hotel was appealing enough for me to book our trip, but when I found out the hotel was holding a special T.A.P.S weekend event, that was just icing on the cake. Only 60 tickets were sold for this event and it was to take place from a Fri. afternoon-Sunday AM and consisted of 2 paranormal investigation training classes, a Q&A session with the TAPS co-founders, 2 delicious buffet dinners and a paranormal investigation on late Fri. and Sat. night with the Ghost Hunters themselves in 3 of the most haunted locations in the hotel. After booking our trip, we were dying of anticipation for the next month until the date of departure. Little did we know that we’d be returning from our trip grinning ear-to-ear after having the time of our lives and our expectations exceeded ten-fold. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us with open arms, took us up to our adorable room & even offered us to do a private investigation of a few of the most haunted places in the hotel our first night. We relaxed in rocking chairs on the vast front porch with a crystal clear view of ranges of snow-capped mountains, which became a hot spot for great conversation amongst guests at the event. We played pool and had cocktails and appetizers at their 2 King’s Pub. Everyone repeatedly expressed how the Spalding staff were so hospitable and the place gave you a warm feeling of being at Grandma’s house. Jason and Grant were as down-to-earth as anyone could possibly hope for as they were out on the porch talking with us all throughout our stay, down-playing their stardom. Our investigations turned up some compelling evidence and all factors of our trip allowed us to conclude that we'll return.

We walked through the front doors late on Sunday afternoon, and were greeted with a smile. From that moment on it felt like we were simply visiting a favorite relative! The guest rooms are fantastic! We spent 4 nights there, and when we left we were on a first name basis with everyone but the general manager! Sunday evening we were enjoying a drink in the pub and Slayton brought us a sample of his ribs, fresh off the smoker. James, one of the bartenders, and my husband were talking recipes and X took the time on his personal time to write one down for Bill and brought it in to him on his day off, The night before we checked out, almost everyone came in to say goodbye and wish us well. We will absolutely be regular customers! Have been home 1 day and already can't wait to go back!

When reservations were made asked if there was indoor pool? Yes After checking we discovered an empty pool. Paid extra for a suite phoned two times before arrival to check what came with the suite was told mircowave, refrigator and the suites are a lot nicer then the regular rooms. When we checked in there was no refrigator no microwave- we called the front desk- oh the suities don't come with those, we will see if we can get you those. Well we got a micowave but never a refrigator. When we asked why we charged extra for nothing as we had seen a regular room the same as our's. They simply said very rudely "Because you asked for one. Never again as the room was dirty along with the hallways. Every time we have made the mistake to book a room with Travelodge it's been awful!!!
