By booking through travelocity I saved almost $* for a 5 day stay. This made the stay a great value. The hotel is impeccable in every way. I have stayed in this hotel 3 times in the past 6 months and it was a consistently good experience each time. I like the hotel better than the Plaza or the Waldorf or any of the Taj hotels. The staff, food, rooms and facilities are fantastic. The location is in an upscale, quiet neighborhood. Easy access to central park and access to midtown is quick since 5th ave is 1/2 block away. I would stay here again.

This place is a gem. Located 1/2 block from Central Park and 2 blocks from Lexington Ave. (subway). We stayed in the AAA special on the 2 bedroom Suite. It is spacious with all new furniture and 3 flat screen HD TVs. The staff are super friendly. The roof is open only to hotel guests. All new electic and plumbing with new AC. Worth the stay. Duxiana beds!

The Surrey Hotel: Ahhhhh! I went to NYC seeking excitement and erudition, albeit my trip was only 3 and 1/2 days, and to my surprise came back home completely refreshed and energized. This was because of my time spent in the Surrey's clean, quiet, sophisticated, charming comfort. Someone laid out a linen cloth at my bedside, while I was out on the avenues. Someone turned down my lights, turned on meditative music, set a bottle of water and a fancy pastry on my bedside table, too. Someone closed my shades and laid out a pair of soft, fresh slippers. I am still riding on my vacation-high, still feeling the clean, comforting calm of the Surrey Hotel.

We stayed at the Surrey when the hotel that we had booked through Travelocity told us that our pre-paid and confirmed reservation would not be honored. It was a stressful situation and the staff at the Surrey was amazing! Although the original hotel booked us at the Surrey for the wrong number of nights, the desk staff immediately corrected the problem. Although I am sure they received a much lower nightly rate than the hotel normally receives, they couldn't have been nicer or more professional. This is a very high-class hotel, but not at all snooty. Everyone is friendly and more than willing to help. Cabs were available within seconds, doormen were always there to greet us...I simply can't say enough about this hotel. This trip had an awful start, but the Surrey did everything in their power to fix a problem that they had absolutely no hand in creating. I thank them for everything they did. This is a wonderful hotel....don't miss it.
