To clarify, this is a family owned Motel...not a Hotel. When we first called for reservations, we were offered an upgrade from a room to a suite for about $*, which we accepted. When we walked into the "suite" &#*;pregnant wife and sleepy one year old in tow), it was absolutely freezing Called the front desk....they sent over a kid who proceeded to tell me that it didn't seem that bad to him (we were in our winter coats and could see our breath), and that it was just a matter of adjusting the floor heating units and that it "should warm up within an hour." As it was then past 10:00 PM, that obviously wasn't acceptable. When I asked for another room, I was told that no other rooms were available. As I counted only four other vehicles parked in the entire complex, I doubted their sincerity. Naturally, I then called and made reservations with a "name" hotel and demanded reversal of charges on my card, which, unbelievably, the Village Haven staff first tried making excuses why they couldn't, but eventually did. Obviously, we don't recommend this Motel...and, in fact, suggest that other families lodge elsewhere.

Made a last minute reservation the day before, told the front desk of our late arrival and gave our credit card number. Got four (4) calls during the evening and night before we checked in as they wanted to be sure that we would show. When we arrived, we had to wake up the front desk to get a key. Then, we were give the a room with a bathroom that reaked of urine. I worked with the desk person and got a new room, but my wife took off to meet with an old friend and took the original room key. Well, apparently, they needed that key and called four (4), yes four, times to my room as I tried to sleep to find out if my wife was back and could deliver the key to them. The second room was only a little less smelly and the bed had sheets that were so old you could see through them. It also had no support. Breakfast was non-existent. An awful night and was priced twice what the lowest stated internet rate is. !!! LOOK ELSEWHERE !!!

The room was large, but had a terrible odor to it. The bathroom was very dirty and at 1:00 AM a skunk sprayed outside our room and the AC unti brought the smell into our room. When we called the front desk to request to be moved. They told me there were no rooms available and there was nothing they could. The so called breakfast was non-existance and the customer service was terrible. This was the worst trip ever and then to find an ""adult"" book next to the Bible in the nightstand was the topper of this terrible night stay!

Had reservations for 2 nights--Oct.4&5,2008 for activities at Clarence Hollow. The lobby was dusty & had a dismal look. Room was of adequit size but carpet was stained,one chair had what appeared to be grease on the upolstry. The next morning at 7:50 a.m. we had to wake them up to get into lobby for coffee which haden't been made yet. The same procedure was followed the second morning. They made the coffee & brought out the pastry in their pajamas. The reason: it was winter and they don't get up early. I would recomend any other motel in the area over this one.
