I visited Birmingham and stayed for 3 nights. I enjoyed my vistit. The staff was very friendly and helped any time i asked questions. The night I arrived I had a problem with my sink and they sent maintenance up and it was fixed right away and he apologized for any inconvenience. I have never slept better the beds were great. I expect to pay for good service so the $* a night for valet parking I expected. I was in and out alot so the guys had to get my car numerous times. They remembered my name and helped me in and out of the car. I had the same friendly service at the front desk when I asked for help. I also ate at Shula's was a little pricey but again i was on vacation. I have already scheduled my next visit.

from the reviews that were posted on the website that decribed the hotel i really expected more.the hotel was beautiful in a great location. it was my birthday when i arrived. the staff was not found to be all that friendly. (i didn't find the southern hospitality). the room we were given # there was a big stain in the carpet. this bothered me for the entire stay my the. this was brought to the attention of the front desk they could have cared less. we were told we would not be charged for the stain.(besides the point). overall my stay was good i enjoyed myself. i will stay again but not in room #.

The decor is a little dated, however it was still very nice. The beds are extremely comfortable and the staff remarkable. The bellmen was extremely helpful with directions and accomadating as I left my car out front while I ran upstairs. I would stay again. Very central location to shops and restaurants.

We stayed here b/c of closeness to our planned activity. I had stayed there several years ago w/ a conference and remembered it as being nice enough. This time: the rate was good (less $90 online and it was convenient for shopping. Decor - appeared tired; wall paper peeling in BR but it was otherwise clean except under the lip of the sink which was only noticeable w/ sitting, as it were. A light in BR was out; didn't bother complaining. 'Spa' toiletries were ok as were towels. As others noted, the bottom sheet came off -- even after taking particular pains to tuck it in. The sheets/mattress pad shifting all night was not comfortable so it was 2 nights of poor sleep. Fortunately, there was a Yankee Candle store in the mall so I was able to find nice room scents. Even w/ spraying directly on the AC vent, the room stayed very musty/icky smelling. Food trays were left overnight in the halls and the pool was so horrid that we did not get in it. Would not recommend the restaurant adjacent to hotel as it was very over priced w/ a poor health rating when we were there. Limited interactions with staff were fine. Yep, it cost for parking but there was free USA Today available. If price is low enough its tolerable.
