This hotel is pretty new! The rooms are great with the plasma tv's, and IPOD docking stations. The breakfast was a very nice touch, and even at night with the free beer & popcorn. My family and I took advantage of the pool several times during our stay, it was wonderful! The staff couldn't have been better. I have NEVER stayed at a hotel where EVERY employee says hello to you and SMILES!! I will always stay at the Tides when returning to Melbourne.

This is a great value for business travelers. I travel to the space coast often, and i have stayed at many different hotels, from ocean front to along I-95. This is the first time i got a quality lodging experience for a reasonable price. If your business is south of patrick afb, then this is a good place to stay. For vacationers, the view from the east side of the hotel is of the indian river (i.e., the bay) from the mainland, but there is no beach or boardwalk at the hotel. If you are looking to save money on accomodations, then this is a great place. It is very close to the causeway to the beaches--five minute drive to public beach access. Historic downtown melbourne is very close to the hotel, lots shops and restaurants. Check this hotel out if you are vacationing on a budget.

My husband and I did a spontaneous stay at the hotel - we thought the hotel was very nicely decorated - the staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area was great as they have very comfortable furniture (kind of reminded me of Miami). We'll definitely stay here again - you can't beat it for the price its great. Great location - close to everything!

We spent one night in January and it was a nightmare. the hotel is OLD, the furniture was broken and damaged, CONSTRUCTION work was ongoing, and the view could not be worse. it is NOT on the ocean like they advertize. It took us aout 30 minutes to check out because of the incompetent staff, and our card was charged for three nights instead of one. When we called to get our money back, the manager admitted his mistake and promised us a credit on our credit card, but he never cerdited our account, we had to go through the dispute process to get our money back. Very FILTHY looking interior, we had no power for about half an hour because of the construction work. It is definitely NOT worth your money. I would not stay there again, even for free.

As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe and secure at the Tides Hotel. The staff was very polite and professional. The hotel was very clean and modern. I will definitely stay at the Tides when I'm back in April to do sales calls.
