Location: Ideal, 10 to mountain, 10 to Stowe Staff: One of the owners greeted us effusively upon arrival, charged the balance and patiently showed us our room and the various living areas. I was excited that this B&B would be welcoming. I soon went down to ask a question and was shocked by the drastic change in his demeanor. It was cold and even slightly rebuking. This change lasted and was apparent for the remainder of the trip. His wife was slightly better and did attempt to interact and make small talk with the guests. Cleanliness: I noticed a pair of dirty, used earplugs on the nightstand by the bed. This demonstrated that while everything else gave the appearance of being clean, that the housekeeper was not thorough. This was reinforced for the remainder of our stay there. The pillows were not put back in the initial order. We also found a cleaning rag left in our sink, the day prior to departure. Amenities: Their great room, with ample sitting space and fire (which was small, but cozy) provided a warm and inviting atmosphere to relax during the evening. The hot tub is a welcome touch as is the plethora of games and books available for guest use. Yummy treats/drinks from 4pm-8pm. Breakfast: Not at all like the brochure you find in Stowe. Consists of: a yogurt w/fruit, baked bread, then an egg dish. While filling and delicious, there are no seconds or other real options offered. If you don't like eggs-this is not the breakfast for you. And the comments on the breakfast was one of the reasons we went. However, the previous owners sold the Inn 4 months ago and the new owners don't seem to have found their niche. Will not return.
