Tropical Escape opened its doors in December 1998. It is built in the Spanish style, painted white with terra cotta tiles and wide arches. Just across the road is the beautiful white sand beach of Paynes Bay, St James, the famed west coast of Barbados. The hotel is located on the West Coast in St James parish, about 45 minutes from Grantley Adams Airport, 15 minutes from Bridgetown and 5 minutes from Holetown. The hotel's elegant entrance opens into a spacious reception area. To the left is The Parrot Café and to the right, the air conditioned Carnival Bar and game room. Straight through reception, up a few stairs and you come out by the pool, surrounded by a large sundeck with tropical plants and the pool bar.

The bedrooms are on the upper two floors of the hotel please note that access is by stairs only. The hotel's 52 rooms are spacious and all have a balcony or patio.
