I have stayed at the Golden Nuggett many times. The rooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. It is nice to be off the strip away from the super big crowds, but still have easy access to the strip via the shuttle or taxi. The only disappointment is the way they handle the cabana rentals. You are told you have the cabana till 8 PM, but if they close early, you don't necessarily get a refund. Strange policy! Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel.

We were very pleased with every aspect of our 3 night stay. We had reserved a suite, which also allowed us access to the spa. Our furnishings were stylish and very comfortable. We had large bottles of complimentary Fiji water in our room each day, as well as a Keurig coffee machine in our room. There were two flat screen televisions, with one being built into the bathroom mirror. A wonderful deep soak bathtub and nice amenities in the bathroom. The bed was absolutely the most comfortable bed I have slept on in many years. We thoroughly enjoyed the spa. The spa was so soothing and had the most delicious selection of hot teas, along with healthy snacks to partake of after a luxurious massage, sauna (wet and dry) or jacuzzi. We also found the swimming pool area delightful and quite lovely. There is huge aquarium incorporated into the water slide and it is stocked with magnificent, very large fish. Everything we could want or need was within the walls of this lovely resort. The shops are all high end and beautifully designed. The staff of the Golden Nugget is exceptional! Every staff member we encountered, without exception, was professional, warm and accommodating. Obviously, the Golden Nugget places their visitors and customers first and superior customer service is paramount! If you choose to stay in downtown Las Vegas, this is the loveliest place to stay. My husband and I highly recommend the Golden Nugget.

Called the hotel the day of my stay and paid $100 to upgrade to a Rush corner suite, which is in the nonsmoking tower. Huge room, two TV's, couch, etc. In the heart of downtown. Room was 4 stars, extremely nice. Unfortunately, didn't get to use the bed as I was up until I had to catch my flight, but it looked very comfortable.

As a non-smoker, I was so glad I spent the little extra to upgrade to the Rush Tower. Since I was going there to get married, the last thing I wanted was to get stuck in a smoking room with two doubles. The room we had was beautiful. The only drawback to the actual room was that the electrical outlets are all hidden behind the furniture. After much investigation, we finally found a hidden door in the entertainment center with an outlet. Also, there was no fan in the bathroom which we found a bit odd. The hotel itself is very nice with a good selection of restaurants. As far as the gambling went, all we did was slots. We didn't win big, but we didn't lose big either...pretty much broke even. We really loved the pools. I would have probably given this a top rating except for events of the last day. My husband and I stayed out late the night before our departure so at 6 am we went to the desk and paid for late checkout (5 pm). At about 11 am, housekeeping started knocking on the door asking if we were checking out even though we had the privacy sign on the door. We got up at about 2 pm and went down for breakfast then went back to the room to change so we could spend an hour at the pool. When we got to the room, we had been locked out. I had to call for housekeeping to let us in and then they said I would have to bring my ID back to the desk to get another card. I didn't even want to bother at that point, since I had paid $40 to them to stay late and the lines in the lobby were long so I wouldn't have time to enjoy the pool anyway. So we just packed up and left. I realize now that it was just one person who forgot to flag our room for late checkout so I can't really fault the whole hotel. Overall, the stay was great, so next time we go to Vegas, we will probably stay at the Golden Nugget again.
