We had a great trip to Cabo for 5 days. Te resort was great. No issues at all the entire trip. Here are a few tips. USD is widely used so take a lot of small bills like 15 and 10s. It is very difficult to get change for large bills. Bring a small calculator for Peso conversions if needed. Must eat locations. The Crazy Lobster. We got a great steak and lobster for 13. The Office but only go on Thursday nights. They have a great entertainment show on this nght only. Have fun.

We spent 5 days there in December 2010. LOVED IT!!! The resort is clean and safe. It offers friendly staff/service, and fabulous dining. (Our room was above the outdoor buffet and nightly live entertainment area which did get a bit noisy, but that was usually over by about 10:00, and the ocean view was worth it!) The location is the best...you're in your own little paradise...quiet yet close enough to walk along the beach to busy Cabo San Lucas if you want some excitement. We already bought a package for our next visit!

We just returned from our 10 day stay in CABO at the Villa del Palmar. What a great property this is located only a very short distance from downtown Cabo (5 mins in taxi)! The staff was very very friendly, the rooms were very nice and clean and the service was super. We enjoyed the pool games very much. The beach was gorgeous although the undertow made it too difficult to swim...don't know if this was the time of year or the location of our beach. Maybe both. THE only things that were less than amazing were the vendors on the beach (they were relentless) and the prices of meals/drinks at the hotel were extremely high. We went to Wal-Mart on Day 2 and stocked up on beer and lunch/snack items. We dined in town several times and did not attend any of the resort shows due to price. All in all, this is a very family-friendly resort and I would recommend it highly to anyone....with the money-saving tips I just provided.

as an owner i am embarrased by the deterioration of this once lovely resort. The beach, usually the best part of our stays at VDP was shocking. The lounge chairs filthy with seagull poop and in disrepair, the sand full of cigarette butts, old cigars, beer caps, straws, all kinds of garbage, more garbage than shells. The umbrellas also covered in poop, and broken, the small drink tables, were soiled with spilled drinks and cups full of cigarette butts. What a sad state of affairs. The seagulls were everywhere, and pooped on beach towels daily. We frequently had to change our towels due to the poop. Lounge chairs, tables or umbrellas were never cleaned once during our stay. To complicate this most objectionable situation, we frequently had to sit next to smokers on the beach. May I suggest that smokers sit at the east end of the beach with ashtrays? The non smokers and families with children sit on the west side. This way the prevailing winds will keep the smoke downwind and away from most of your guests who do not smoke. The ashtrays will keep the cigarette litter out of the sand our children play in. There was only one waiter to service the entire beach. We attempted to order lunch and had to wait one and a half hours (11/2) for a burnt pizza. The portions for the beverages have shrunk significantly, there are now small 9 oz cups and the prices have increased. The quality of the food is poor. I ordered ceviche, always a favorite at VDP. The fish was tuff and tasted old. I had to return it. Consequently we stopped ordering food on the beach. The noise level in the rooms was unacceptable, due to loud guest throught the night.

We were at VDP from Nov. 9-16. The only construction going on were finishing touches on the driveway in front of the hotel and the children's pool. Neither impacted us at all. Had a jr suite with an ocean view - view was awesome and the room had everything we needed. Made a quick trip to Costco and Walmart; picked up bottled water and other essentials - sandwich stuff and such. We spent lots of time by the pool and it was totally relaxing - yet lots of activities if you were inclined to participate. They also have a nice beach area with lounges and umbrellas. We walked into town one day and the others we walked down the beach and ate breakfast at various spots on the beach. Vendors are there, but just say "Gracias, No" and they're on their way of course you have to keep saying it because there are lots of vendors, but hey it really wasn't a problem. Try Tabasco's - they have two for one cocktails all day and we had a great breakfast with Bloody Mary's. We plan to go back again in Nov/Dec. of 2010. The hotel was not over crowded and the weather was awesome. Great to have coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening on our balcony with a terrific ocean view. We also didn't have any problem with the timeshare folks - when we checked in they approached us and we said no thank you - they literally never bothered us again. My only negative would be that the safe in your room has a key - I prefer a personal code - keys can be duplicated. That being said I put passports and other valuables in our safe and we had no problem. Staff was great.
