hotel is very bare bones, sadly the lobby is the nicest part of the hotel. the front desk was extremely nice and helpful but thats were the good comments about this hotel end. first off their " high speed" internet is lucky if it gets to DSL speeds most times it is lucky to get to 75k speed. next the bathrooms are seriously out of date and in need of massive TLC lots of water stains, mold/mildew in the cracks and just about ever other join in the tub area. the TV are old CRT 27" screens so picture quality is not great but they do offer a decent channel line up. the rooms are badly designed they are all designed to be double bed rooms so if you get a single bed their is a lot of odd open space in the room and just kinda feels odd. their is not much for food in the area you will have to head north on the 520 to the mall a few miles up the road

Hotel is very clean. Need to have fans in the bathrooms to disperse steam from showers. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good each morning. Would definately recommend to a friend to stay there.

11/16/2009I thought this hotel was going to be nice...not. the hotel desk clerks are not courteous and they don't clean the bedrooms. asked for towels, because house cleaning ...
I thought this hotel was going to be nice...NOT. The hotel desk clerks are not courteous and they don't clean the bedrooms. Asked for towels, because house cleaning did not clean my room, like they're supposed to everday. The clerk gave me the towel that's supposed to go on the floor...how terrible is that. Not trained, or ill-trained. Will never stay in another Wingate hotel. Don't waste your money!

Hotel was close to the interstate so access was easy. There is very little in the way of fast food, etc. at the same exit, so you have to drive an exit or two down the highway for ameneties. Hotel was basically clean, but kind of bare bones in its furnishing style - certainly not a 3 star, in my opinion. More like a decent 2-star hotel. The beds were fine, but the bathroom could have used some more cleaning. Room air conditioner was on the fritz, tho the rest of the hotel was well cooled. Breakfast was ample and good quality. Nobody was really around to check on things in the front desk/breakfast area, however, so you had to ring to get service of any kind. There are other hotels similarly priced in the area, I would check one of them before I would stay at the Wingate again.

For the money, this is the best in Augusta by far. Very Friendly and accomodating staff. Clean rooms, free, fast internet. This is a little far from Augusta National and downtown but if you want a nicer hotel than those on Washington Rd. This is the one for you. Close to food, and right off the highway. The staff was very helpful with questions, requests, and went out of their way to make our stay the best it could be!
