We had a great night at this hotel - the beds were comfy (especially after a week at a Disney resort), the room was clean and nice, the free internet was useful. Breakfast was great the next morning. It was an outstanding value. The only downside was that we could hear the lobby elevator music from our room (which was on the 2nd floor off the lobby).

Because I always read reviews and take them seriously.. I had to share my delightful experience at this hotel. The check-in went very smoothly. The staff was very helpful in providing directions and offering tourist attractions. I had the King Ste. for two nights with my kids. The room was very spacious. The breakfast was great (actually scrambled eggs and sausage)! The location was in the center of everything and it was very close to Jacksonville Beach - which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were lucky to get there before the oil spill. I highly recommend this hotel for it

I arrived on 11/07/09 and after checking in to my room I left to do some shopping and spend time with family and friends returning to the room to relax after a long day I noticed a bug in my room so I killed it, thinking that it was the only one in there but shortly after that I heard some noise on the side of the bed and looked over to see more bugs. I left went to the front desk to complain about the bugs when I was given another room, although this room appeared to be cleaner than the room I had before it had a awful smelled so I went back to the front desk to be moved to a better room when instead they send me to another hotel at their expense which I was fine with until I was told that they were only paying for one night by the gentle man at the Fairfield inn front desk. I paid in advance for three nights and I am entitled to three nights the gentle was so nice and called Wingate hotel up and spoke with them about paying for three nights and they then decided to comp my room for the full three nights. However when it was time to checked out on the 11/10/09 I had to stay to get the problem taken care of because they wanted to go back on their word about paying for the three days, but they gentle man at Fairfield tooked care of this problem that Wingate hotel caused and even though they are going to pay for the room that they sent me to, it was still a inconvenience and I will NEVER!! Go back to the Wingate hotel again, but absolutely the Fairfield Inn.

We were quite dismayed to open the door on the second night of our recent stay to find bugs running across the tile floor in our bathroom. We wish we could say that we were the only people this happened to but at least one other family on our floor found their room so infested they had to move. As much as we liked eveything else about our stay - good rate, available breakfast, convenient location and nice staff, we would not be comfortable returning.
