My friends and I went down to stay at the begining of April. To start with this place has TWO different names???? Confusing when trying to find and check in! After booking this and being charged to my credit card there is a cleaning that was applied after the computer finished the reservation and got to the end and said my room was booked (that's when it showed this). I even went back through the entire process just to see if I overlooked it and I PROMISE I did not, the hotel even denise the fact they don't tell you until after its booked. ALSO when you get there they want a 500 dol damage fee that is refundable.... Well I paid cash since it is 100% refundable b/c I wanted to use my CC elsewhere. Turns out when I go to check out they wld not give me my money, they say they have to mail it in a check! WHAT? After 2 weeks and no check, 5 phone calls and 2 months later I got my money! AND be sure if you pay cash when you check in you have exact money b/c they do not give change back, I lost 18 extra dollars b/c she says we do not keep money! YEAH sounds insane right... IT is! ALso the bunk beds in our room had no top sheets on them just ruff comforters, we asked for sheets and never got any! ALthough the room was beautiful and spacious. Also parking and checking in and finding the RIGHT elevator(S) is ridiculos. I will NOT return, there are much better places to stay!

Our experience at the Wyndham Resort was wonderful. We were there with our daughter , son-in-law and two grand children. There is some confusion and walking involved to and from parking, rooms and elevators but we all need to walk more. If you are looking for a relaxing time at the beach and pool you will find it there. The room was better than expected with a beautiful view of the beach. They were still under some construction but it didn't interfer with us. The staff was great and accommodating. The area around is not nearly as commercialized as Destin. It is a beach town with plenty to do. We had a great time and would definitely go back.

Our condo that we rented was beautiful and had everything you could image. The problem is with the amenities that were advertised as being as this resort. I guess it is now known as Wyndam Resorts. When you check in it is very confusing as Emerald Beach customers and Wyndam Resort residents check in at different areas. Also, the set up of going to your room is crazy. You take an elevator to the ground floor then go through some doors and take another elevator up to your room. There is no fitness facility built, three pools had just opened, which were nice, tight security at the pools, and I mean tight! There is a Starbucks which is across the skybridge and down an escalator. There is no Game Room, there is no Lazy River. They still have two pools under construction. One is built, but is not safe to swim in. Although the view is beautiful and right on the beach. But if you are looking for something for your kids to do if it is raining, you are out of luck. By the way, no Sports Bar, it is now a Martini Bar with six plasma tvs, which do not work. Lovely condo, but would not stay again.

Although this was a quick 4th of July trip for us, we had a great time. The hotel is located alittle to the west of the main strip where the kid activities are (mini golf, go carts, fair rides, etc.) but this just made the trip more enjoyable. There is still plenty to do around the hotel and you are just short distance from Pier Park which has alot of shopping and dinning places. Part of the hotel is still under contruction, however it is the part that is across the street by the parking garage. I have been to Panama many times and I have stayed in many different hotels, this is by far one of the best. We stayed in a one bedroom standard which sleeps 6. There is the king size bed in the bedroom, two built in bunk beds in the hall and also the queen size sofa bed. The only draw back to the room was that the only bathroom access is through the bedroom, although it really wasn't that big of deal. The Hotel pictures are exactly what my room looked like, white comforter and all. The pool is also great!! very warm and the staff will not allow people to come down early and throw towels on chairs to save. The only draw back to the pool is that it closes at 10:00pm and guest are not allowed to just sit around it. Those of you with small children save your money on go carts, the hotel has a weekly activies list to help keep you and your children entertained.
