I stayed in a hotel room right next to the Shoshone River which reminded you of its presence if you leave your window cracked. The staff was extremely friendlly and willing to please. I enjoyed the karaoke in the evening and the food was fabulous. I happened to be there on a weekend so I was able to sample the prime rib that was cooked to perfection. I was there in September of 2009 and I cant wait to get back.

Hello Staff, My wife and I would like to thank you for the wonderful service, great food, and comfortable stay at the Yellowstone Valley Inn. The staff truely made us feel welcome and right at home. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable, energetic,and super accomodating. We especially enjoyed the company of the waitresses in the restaraunt. Keep up the great attitudes and excellent work! We recommend staying in one of the cabins. It was very affordable, clean, and well situated. All of the accomodations are within easy walking distance to make it very convenient for any type of traveler. It's a great place for children, RV's, tenters, and hotelers. Next time we are going to try one of the hotel rooms. We hope there are some openings. We have told everyone who likes a family atmosphere about the Yellowstone Valley Inn. We can't wait to come back. Thanks for the follow up phone call concerning our stay! Very inviting. We wish we could have met you in person!

My wife, my dog, and I stayed at YVI for several days in June 2008. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful with every need we had. The food was very, very good. Quaint, "Western Rustic" decor, comfortable...superb scenery in every direction. We look forward to a return trip to Cody and another stay at YVI.

We stayed there this summer and were absolutely delighted with it. The room rate was really good, with full, and I mean full, breakfast buffet included. The room was very attractive, and the furnishings seemed new and in good shape. In the evening the a la carte menu is not cheap, but the steaks we had were superb, simply superb. The service was friendly all round, and we are going to stay there again next year. The only small complaint was that the maid had not vacuumed under the beds very thoroughly, but it made no difference to us. Looking at the other two reviews, I recall the manageress telling us that there had been a change of ownership and quite a re-vamp, that was still not quite complete. Our room was great, with marvelous views over the river and space for all six of us. We stayed a second night rather than move as we were so pleased with the place. For us the price was right, the place was right and everything was right. We thought it was exceptional value for money, especially so close to Yellowstone and Cody. It is not a 5 star place, but it fills its niche very, very well.

We arrived late with other hotels in the area full, needing a room for 6, and still got a great rate. The well appointed room was pleasant and comfortable and in the morning had a real breakfast with ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits with gravy and lots more. The upstairs room had a balcony overlooking the river and we enjoyed the views. In fact, we were so pleased that we decided to stay over. We tried the restaurant that night. No prime rib on Tuesday, but the steak was excellent with prices normal for that kind of menu. There was a reasonably priced children's menu as well. We were delighted and plan to stay there again next year.
