The NWLA P&A Manager position is responsible for the management and production of all analysis requested by the NWLA marketing and executive teams.
Essential Functions:
Financial / Operating: This position is responsible for market performance and forecasting, gaming revenue projections and analysis, Annual Capital Budget and Operating Budget preparation, long-range financial planning, labor staffing analysis, property profit analysis for hotel room occupancy, food and beverage profitability analysis, capital expenditure presentation and analysis, monthly reporting and on-demand analysis requests.
The ideal candidate will create procedures to enhance the forecasting of financial performance by coordinating with property managers, interdepartmental team members and divisional property planning teams. This position is responsible for proactively reviewing the industry and regulatory environment to aid in strategic decision-making for the property, and is also responsible for the accurate and timely communication of plans and forecasts to Corporate.
Marketing: Marketing analysis in the Northwest Louisiana region includes but is not limited to future revenue builds by marketing program by day, marketing expense summaries, detailed segmentation analysis, event / promotion / concert post-analysis, rolling P&L statements for continuing programs, National Casino Marketing results, executive host reporting, junket rep analysis, and direct mail program results and post-analysis. All analysts reporting to this manager share responsibility and ownership of each month’s analysis, presenting their findings and recommendations directly to senior management. In addition, the marketing P&A team is responsible for proformas for all marketing programs, in conjunction with the calendar development process.
While considerable science is applied to the analysis of all marketing programs, there is always a certain amount of subjectivity applied to those results. The ideal candidate will be able to synthesize complex information quickly, accept ambiguous circumstances when a solution is not readily apparent, and make recommendations to move the businesses forward.
Technical: In addition, the ideal candidate will bring evidence of considerable technical abilities, as demands on resources are constantly being challenged. The ability to automate and improve processes of data manipulation, regardless of system, as well as the ability to develop and mentor the staff to learn new processes, will allow the team to continue to accept increasing levels of analytical responsibility with decreasing levels of supervision.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field essential – Master’s Degree preferred. Creative problem solving and analytical skills required. Considerable and complex PC skills required. Three to five years experience in Finance or related field required, preferably related to casino or entertainment marketing. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to handle multiple functions simultaneously through superior organizational skill required. The ideal candidate will exhibit evidence of superior technical knowledge of Excel, Access, Cognos Impromptu, Showcase, and other systems as necessary.
