Cashiers are responsible for insuring the security and accuracy of money’s collected from guests and change returned. They are responsible for the order and cleanliness of the cashiers cage. They must be friendly, positive and in an upbeat mood at all times and bid guests pleasant greetings. Must be well groomed and speak clearly, with proper volume for guests to understand.

Answer the phone in accord with guidelines set forth by Food and Beverage. Support and maintain Horseshoe Casino-Hotel’s Values and Mission Statement and also the values and Mission Statement specific to the Food & Beverage Department. Keeping micros clean and in good repair. Maintain adequate supplies to perform cashier function effectively. Keep checks organized and printed neatly. Keep all paperwork organized. (comps, changes, cash, etc). Properly using the P.O.S. (Micros) system to close checks, run credit cards, correct problems and all other guest functions available with the Micros. Running open check reports to see that all assigned checks are accounted for. Notifying managers of problems immediately. Maintain the security of all moneys at all times. Maintaining on your possession a pen Horseshoe identification and name badge at all times while on Horseshoe property. Successfully passing the LACT TIPS course on alcohol awareness within the first 90 days of employment. Complete all opening, closing, and running duties as assigned by management. Count drawer, make daily drop, complete necessary paperwork in a timely fashion. Bid guests a warm farewell and invite them to return as well as a warm greeting.


QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 6 months previous cash handling experience. Host experience a plus. Must be 21 years of age. Ideal candidate possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have a genuine focus of exceptional service for all guests. This position demands excellent accuracy and speed. Must be able to stand and walk, entire shift.
