SUMMARY: The village square host is the second impression a guest gets of the restaurant. They are responsible for making guest feel welcome. They set the tone for the entire experience. They are responsible for knowing all aspects of the restaurant including hours of operation, specials and the menu. They are to be courteous and friendly to guests at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Greet guests with a friendly original greeting. They are to introduce themselves and obtain the guests last name and place it at the bottom of the pivot page.

Handle reservation list; table assignment and availability control.

Support and maintain Horseshoe Casino-Hotel’s Values and Mission Statement and also the values and Mission Statement specific to the Food and Beverage Department.

Keep Host stand and Front entrance area neat, clean and orderly.

Take the guests drink order and place it on the pivot page.

Making sure the guests are being seated at a clean table either by doing it themselves or getting the server to do it.

Handle any guest-related problem by acknowledging, acting and apologizing.

Make sure that the tables are set up properly.

Make sure the high chairs are washed down and in their proper place.
